Poch n’ Potter in for Blues gig

By The Boy -

MAURICIO POCHETTINO AND GRAHAM POTTER have been installed as joint favourites with Ladbrokes to replace Thomas Tuchel at Chelsea.

Following Tuchel’s shock Stamford Bridge exit on Wednesday morning, the bookies have put Pochettino and Potter at the head of the betting at 6/4 apiece, with Zinedine Zidane an 8/1 shot ahead of Gian Piero Gasperini at 10/1.

Elsewhere, Patrick Vieira is among the 25/1 shots alongside Thomas Frank, while former Leeds boss, Marcelo Bielsa is a 20/1 shot and current boss, Jesse Marsch is 50/1 as things stand.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes told TBH: “Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea exit has left the world scratching its head, but the odds suggest a return to London could well be on the cards for Mauricio Pochettino.”

Dont think Chelsea act before they think .
Potter , and I’m not convinced he is up to the task , must have been high on their wanted list and probably No 1 , purely on the basis of “asking “if they could talk with him .
They must know that he would , at the very least , be listening .
Ithink his inexperience at European and World level might be his undoing eventually , certainly Tuchel has fallen due to Player power . 100days in to a new board and he’s been sacked , really says it all===== Potter beware !!!!!!!!!!

Can’t help think Tuchel’s hissy fit with Antonio wouldnt have played well to the new owners and US market and made his exit more likely

Poch on the market and has big club experience, Brighton likely to fight for Potter.

Got to be Poch all day long.

We’ll soon see. I would be very surprised if he did not answer the call of ambition.

Unless he wants Southgate’s spot after a blown World Cup.

Id rather have Conte in No10. The last incumbents have been utterly incompetent. Botch would love the Cobham gang. The truth id Botch wont be struggling with his energy bills.

I don’t think he’s someone that motivated by money.

I have a suspicion that Potter will listen to what they have to say,but will commit to Brighton. He has a good project going there and I suspect the players like and respect him.I think he would like to continue with that project and quite rightly too.Money isn’t everything.

Watching Frankfurt-Sporting now. Not much to report, but if we can’t beat a team where castoff Edwards leads the line then we’re in the wrong competition.

Whod’a thought it , Tuchel’s gone before Conte .
Now Antonio wont be signing for them for another few years at least , I hope all his detractors will now shut up !!!!!
It seems Klopp would be favourite right now for the “Top Six ” sack race with Arteta a strong 2nd Fav [ they’ve had favourable early fixtures ] .
But our lovable little dictator [ Conte = lovable = not the other bloke obviously] is on course for all things achievable .
Was the Tuchel firing something foreseeable , seems incredible ………. ???

Pochettino is a great coach, particularly with a younger group of players. However so is Potter and unless he rejects it it’s likely to be him.

I think it will be Potter as they’ve asked Brighton for permission to talk to him. Why would they bother if they’ve go someone else lined up?

I’d say Poch has no chance of the Chelsea job. Their spoilt fans wouldn’t accept an ex Spur as manager. The days of a Hoddle are long gone. We are of course less picky and had no problem with three ex Chelsea managers.

I don’t think Zidane speaks English and believe that he is waiting to take over the France job after the World Cup. The media are suggesting that Potter has a release clause of £12 million and that he might be installed in time for this weekend. Would Poch go to Brighton by some chance?

Having been otherwise indisposed today and, until now not party to news, I was left a bit jaw-dropped to read this, but upon reflection, not entirely surprised.
It’s all going to come down to personal terms, but given Poch’s CV is marginally more impressive with a CL runners-up and Ligue 1 title, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if we’re soon locking horns with our devsive ex-gaffer setting up shop just up the road by the end of the week.
I’ve never been shy to acknowledge what he did for this club and wish him well.

This time, though….. 🙄
