Tottenham Hotspur could reportedly consider a move for the Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho this summer.
According to journalist Ben Jacobs, the North London giants are keeping tabs on the 23-year-old Premier League winger.
Sancho joined Manchester United in a deal worth around £73 million but he could be available for a knockdown price in the coming weeks.
Jacobs told GMS: “Sancho is not at the top of the list for Manchester United outgoings. But that’s not to say that, for the right price, they wouldn’t consider it.
“I think that right price is in excess of £50million, and maybe even closer to £60million, so that’s a consideration from Tottenham’s point of view.”
A report from Daily Mail claims that Manchester United value the player at £45 million now.
The 23-year-old has struggled to live up to the expectations since the big-money move from Borussia Dortmund and it makes sense for the Red Devils to cash in on him and sign a player who will be able to make the desired impact.
Meanwhile, Tottenham need to add more quality and depth in the wide areas and Sancho could be a useful option for them if he can regain his form and confidence.
The 23-year-old was regarded as a world-class talent during his time in Germany and he has the potential to develop into a top-class player for Tottenham in the coming seasons. It will be interesting to see if Ange Postecoglou can get the best out of the player if he joins Tottenham.
The Australian manager has a proven track record of getting the best out of its players and he could be the ideal manager to unlock Sancho’s potential.
The Manchester United winger probably needs a fresh start to get his career back on track and a move to Tottenham will allow him to regain his peak form without too much pressure and limelight.
