“Picked up the injury in training”, “rule him out” – Doctor shares Tottenham injury update ahead of the Arsenal game

By Mehdi Gokal -

Tottenham Hotspur striker Richarlison is set to face another spell away from first-team training due to a recent injury, according to Dr. Rajpal Brar, a physical therapist and sports scientist.

Dr. Brar explained that the Brazilian forward is likely to miss a couple of weeks, casting doubt on his availability for the crucial North London derby against Arsenal after the international break.

Richarlison reportedly picked up the injury during a training session, and while the club is hopeful he can return by the end of September, his rehabilitation will involve progressing through various dynamic exercises before fully rejoining the squad.

As a result, the 27-year-old is expected to miss the majority of the month, including a few important fixtures.

Speaking to Tottenham News, Dr. Brar provided an update on Tottenham’s number 9:

“He picked up the injury in training and is expected to be ruled out for a few weeks.

“Based on the potential return timeline around 21 September, he will likely be progressing through more dynamic activities with the hope of returning to team training after the international break.

“It’s fair to rule him out for the entire month from first-team training.“

Since his high-profile transfer from Everton for £60 million, Richarlison has struggled to consistently find his form at Spurs. Despite interest from the Saudi Pro League during the summer, the forward remained in North London.

This season, he appeared in two Premier League matches as a substitute before the injury sidelined him for the recent 2-1 defeat to Newcastle United.

Tottenham have accounted for potential injury issues by strengthening their attack with the addition of Dominic Solanke from Bournemouth. However, he is also recovering from a knock at the moment.
