According to the latest report from Football Insider, Tottenham is planning to part ways with several fringe players this month before pursuing a new midfielder.
The club have already made early signings in the transfer window, securing Timo Werner on loan from RB Leipzig and completing the permanent transfer of centre-back Radu Dragusin from Serie A side Genoa.
Although signing a midfielder remains a ‘priority’ for the North London team, the focus is reportedly on outbound transfers before making further signings.
According to transfer correspondent Pete O’Rourke on Football Insider’s Inside Track Podcast, manager Ange Postecoglou aims to “clear the decks” of players who don’t fit into his long-term plans.
Furthermore, O’Rourke claims that Tottenham are prioritising the departure of more first-team players before making a new midfielder signing.
Notable departures so far includes Hugo Lloris, Eric Dier, and Ivan Perisic. Additionally, Sergio Reguilon has joined Brentford on loan, Djed Spence has been loaned to Genoa, and Tanganga has also been sent to Millwall on loan.
The club are also reportedly keen on offloading Bryan Gil and Ryan Sessegnon.
