Pep Guardiola Acknowledges His Mission’s Impossible

By The Boy -

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been making a small case for Manchester City as the side that could, in theory, find a way to rustle up the Harry Kane cash to test Daniel Levy’s resolve. Based upon Pep Guardiola’s quotes via the BBC, it would seem my thoughts were misplaced.

As I mentioned previously, much is set to be made of the return of some fans to stadiums, but the reality is that this will be too little to be of any use beyond contributing to operational costs.

If we can take Pep at his word, then this casts a very different light over Harry Kane exit stories, given that Manchester City had to be the most credible English side to potentially be in the mix. This would by default leave us with Real Madrid for the press to try and talk up as Kane’s ‘dream move’. What’s amusing there of course, is that agent Bale will still be draining €600,0000 a week from the Meringues’ coffers for another season.

There was supposed to be a limit. Financial fair play. They were punished, and immediately succesfully appealed.. So FFP is non existent really.. If clubs don’t follow the rules and don’t get punished then it’s a sham… Look at Citys spending.. Abundance of riches.. Abromovich could afford a blow out in the last window.. Man City owners have more money than him.. If they want or need to spend they will. If anyone can afford him in this country then they can… Peps waffling nonsense again, it could be an attempt to drive his price down.. That won’t work with the bald one.

They have a limit to what they spend and when, they waited a year for Dias. Pep also has a profile of player he wants does he want Kane? Maybe not.

They have already dubiously escaped a ban, which allows them to spend whatever they want.

Pep and City have spent a billion on players. Your heart really goes out to them, what struggles they have had to endure.

I’d take his comments with a pinch of salt too. It’s all relative and Man City are the least affected club by all of this.

Before Guardiola even thinks about putting the words “struggling” and “man city” in the same sentence he should perhaps go and visit some conference north or south clubs or lower down to see what a struggle really is….
Belgium court have ruled lockdowns illegal and stated they must cease within next 30 days…..this should be a given and there are other court cases round the world, probably why they’ve relaxed things and with summer coming they know, like last year, people will go outside on mass anyway so it’s just a little respite until the next incarnation of terror.

Kane ain’t moving to sh!try Manchester. Kane “believes” he’ll stay at tottenham and win stuff at tottenham. He knows what we’ve got going on.

city want haaland , haaland wants his next move to a big club.

his agent want big money to reflect the status of his client , hence the open meeting policy with Barca/Real to drive up the price .

problem is the market is depressed .

Man city know this – the statement from pep sets a hard stance on fees.

the deal will happen

City rarely break the £60m barrier and tend to pay between the £40m – £60m bracket. They have done ok without Aguero and will hope Torres can step up. I wouldn’t rule PSG out of the mix for Kane

I don’t believe for one second City are struggling. It’s probably more to do with what some of us suggested, that 150 approx mill for 2 years of semi peak Kane just isn’t worth it. Haarland is the big draw now, young and scores goals by the bucket load, he’ll end up in Spain, so City will look elsewhere, or nowhere cos after walking the title this time they won’t be doing it next season cos the product demands a degree of unpredictability. That’s why I said in the summer Liverpool would do nothing this season when everyone was backing them to win it again and they haven’t.

As Kane is 3 years into a contract that he signed before he was 28 years old, I’ve got a feeling he can buy it out. That would cost around £30m.
