The Football Observatory has managed to come up with the idea that Bonzo is the 5th most valuable right back in the world, pricing him at some €20m.
Whether they are onto something or not, I honestly couldn’t tell you. My suspicions that I’m being told a tale are always aroused when tiny pieces of information such as this, are prefaced by 5000 words of explanatory notes.
Kyle Naughton is a player that I’ve given my opinions on before now, and so it’s welcome news that we’ve been sounding out Feyenoord’s Daryl Janmaat.
At the risk of becoming a one trick pony, his stats for last season weren’t too shabby. Pass accuracy of 82%, he made 8 defensive actions made 0 defensive errors and and scored 2 goals.
And here’s the thing. He created a whopping 36 chances. So Daryl is proof, if you like, that defending and attacking aren’t mutually exclusive.
We need to get our back four right, settled and sorted. Do we really want another season where our goalkeeper is MOTM for most of our games?
Glenda gets it:
I think it depends on who is going to be leaving. I think they need a centre-half. That’s a given, definitely a centre-half and maybe in the full-back areas and in defence and I think they need cover – but I just think they need to get the best out of those new players that came in in the summer.
I think that’s the key to it and they can add on a few players.”
In other news, where some clubs opt for run of the mill master drapers such as Dolce & Gabbana to provide their schmutter, we appear to have hired Pee Wee Herman.
