Pedula | ‘we repeat – wants to stay’ Paratici fail on the cards?

Tottenham Hotspur wants to improve their attack for next season to give it more scoring depth and rely less on Harry Kane and Son Heung-min. Of the various players that the north London club wants, one of the top targets is AS Roma’s Nicolò Zaniolo.

However, Spurs might have to cross him off their list. Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla reports that the 22-year-old wants to remain at Roma, where he has a contract until 2024.

Spurs club chief Fabio Paratici reportedly met with Tiago Pinto to discuss a possible deal for the Italy international, but no serious offers were exchanged between the two executives.

If Zaniolo wants to remain with the Serie A side then it’s another name that Spurs will need to move on from after Arsenal are on the verge of landing Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus if reports are accurate.

Zaniolo made 42 appearances this past season, scoring eight goals and recording nine assists.
