“Pathetic” – Roy Keane unloads on Spurs, Harry Kane after FA Cup loss to Middlesbrough

Tottenham Hotspur is still dealing with the after-effects of crashing out in the 5th round of the FA Cup against Middlesbrough. The north London club will go another season without winning silverware, and Spurs is barring the brunt of jokes and criticism.

One pundit that’s not holding back their remarks on Spurs extra-time loss is Roy Keane, who called Tottenham’s performance in their FA Cup loss “pathetic” during a segment on ITV

“Spurs… Spursy! How many times do we have to say it? Whatever’s in that club’s DNA – the players – there’s a weakness there,” Keane said. “It’s really pathetic, but I wasn’t surprised. Going up to Middlesbrough in midweek, probably a bit cold. No surprises there.”

Keane also singled out striker Harry Kane for not elevating himself against Middlesbrough. Furthermore, the English football pundit questions the leadership of Kane.

“Where was he yesterday? If he is your main striker, he has to do more – he has to lead them. He does not lead them that well, and you saw that yesterday.”

Tottenham will now focus on finishing in the top four as a consolation prize for another trophyless season. However, that will be challenging considering the number of points they dropped over the past few weeks.

Nonetheless, they still have an opportunity to possibly play in UEFA Champions League football next season, or it will be a summer with a lot of reflecting on their part since manager Antonio Conte could decide to leave.
