Parrott Video Will Send You Crackers

Irish star in the making, Troy Parrott, got off to cracking start against Juventus in Singapore yesterday.

On the half hour mark, the Dublin born boy took a great low shot which was parried out by Buffon for Lamela to then score our opening goal.

The 17-year-old has a future at Tottenham. A future in football.

This is another timely reminder to those who remain in doubt over the Marcus Edwards business. A boy that that has NO future at Tottenham, NO future in football.

More please.

Not so much humble pie, mate All the other Academy kids so far have been junk.

Edwards, Onomah – not good enough.

Parrott has a brain.

It’s not just competition,Moura or Lamela could fill that role, but he needs to be dropped to the bench to show him that he just doesn’t warrant a start anymore.
PBOG made a good point that the opposition have read his game and know his shortcomings so they can nullify his influence.I feel this will be make or break for him this season.
Skipp,Parrott and Tanganga looked the best of our kids.I’d like to think Parrott showed enough to get further opportunities this season.Better him than Llorente if he resigns.

In Answer to Elenstonedidiots: I totally agree with you about Dele, and my worry is that he will spend a whole season ‘Pratting around’, flicks, attempted nutmegs, and while he is in the team that means one of Lucas, Sonny or lamela will have to sit out. If i was Poch i would start the season with Dele on the bench, as long as he thinks he is an automatic starter then the arsing around will never stop !

The reason for Dele’s “pratting around” is that he has nothing else to offer and he knows it. Every defender in the Premiership is aware he has no left foot and no pace so they jockey him into positions where his only options are to pass backwards or try the flicks etc. Dele’s ego will always make him opt for the fancy stuff with a low probability of success but unfortunately there are oohs and aahs every time he pulls off something out of the ordinary irrespective of whether he has lost the ball four out of five times beforehand (which the statistics generally show to be true).

!00%, i feel he has regressed so much last season, and rarely brings anything now. I spend most of the game shouting at him as another attack breaks down after an attempt at a flick, or running into cul-de-sacs.. But i partly blame the club/Poch for not giving him enough competition for his place, allowing him to stagnate..

I agree about Parrot ,play him 45 every preseason game and if passes the test get him in the squad games for cups and last 5 mins.
Skippy has defo got fire in his belly which counts for a lot with me ,gives a shit and wants it.
Tanned boy also looked like a lump with a good touch and good decision making, why has no one mentioned him before.
Normally friendlys are turd but those youngsters took it to them and they had to respond which made a good watch. One thing I must say we are 10 days further into preseason so we’re fitter than them ,but hey you play who you.play.

I think it’s also Levels with the academy kids, whereby they may be good enough to play in the lower reaches of the premier league/championship, where we are currently, looking to become a force, most of them would not be considered good enough. Skipp reminds me a little of Scott Parker (Hopefully without the pirouettes), and seems to know what to do, as in win the ball and give it to the ‘Creators’ in the team. I am rooting for Troy to push on, but as we’ve seen with the aforementioned Onomah and Edwards, just because they are good at 16/17/18, doesn’t automatically mean they will push on and fulfil the potential.

Its the desire the lad shows in the move. Not content just to sit and admire his pass to Son he great pace and desire to get up and support the attack. Never mind Edwards, Dele could do worse than look at this clip. He continues to prat about like these pre-season games are beneath him.

Do you know what H, I might have to do the same as you and eat a little humble pie!
I admit I don’t watch the kids enough, after yesterday I think Skipp and Parrott are gonna makie it into the first team, which is bloody great!
Perhaps there’s been a little more planning than is evident?
Starting to remind me of Poch’s arrival, very understated in presses but very efficient clean-up, the identified the work to do,the roles needed and clever recruitment in a budget with a clear direction/culture…

I’ll remain sceptical by default as its protected me mentally since the day Jol was sacked (!) – we all know Levy was looking to move to this model years ago and, in the spirit of our new transatlantic partnerships, ‘he lucked out big time’ with Poch!..

No one could have known Poch would be as good as he has been, it could have bee been another half-season of failed promises and dirty laundry, ala AvB, but Poch cleared up the shit and made it happen….

So,..I wonder/hope/(dare to) dream!….
Has Poch has finally built a ‘line of credit’ with this lot?!!!!

NB – creating genuinely good youth players is like having a golden goose that shits gold too!!..

I’ll finish on a philosophical note – IF enic fuck this up, what it the point??

Can we really play a 17 year old in all the cups when Harry is rested? Yes we probably will. Big pre-season test for the boy. He’ll play in all of the games I reckon, it’s his big chance.

Giorgio needs more work though.

Tanguy, fucking love him already. Moussa who?
