Paratici’s ‘old obsession’ 23-yr-old linked with Spurs move, reportedly

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Roma attacking midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo.

According to a report from Calciomercato, club director Fabio Paratici is currently in Italy discussing outgoings and he could decide to make a move for the 23-year-old playmaker who is an ‘old obsession’ of his.

The report adds that Paratici has been tracking the technically gifted midfielder since his time as a director at Juventus but Tottenham would have to submit a ‘rich offer’ to lure him away from Italy this summer.

Apparently, Roma are looking to renew the midfielder’s contract but the negotiations are yet to be concluded.

It will be interesting to see if Tottenham decide to submit an offer for the creative midfielder in the coming weeks. Recently Evening Standard have claimed that the Londoners are still in the market for a creative attacker.

Zaniolo is regarded as a prodigious talent with a massive future ahead of him. If he can get over his injury issues, he could develop into a valuable asset for any club. The midfielder has missed 83 games over the last three seasons owing to injury problems.

Furthermore, manager Jose Mourinho wants to sell the player to a foreign club instead of letting him join Roma’s Italian rivals.

Meanwhile, Paratici will also focus on multiple outgoings during his trip to Italy.
