Paratici wants to bring former Juventus midfield star to Tottenham

Fabio Paratici is eyeing a swoop for Barcelona midfielder, Miralem Pjanic as the Catalans look to get rid of him.

The midfielder joined Juventus while Paratici was in charge of transfers at the Allianz Stadium and he helped them to dominate the Italian game.

The Bosnian moved to Barcelona last summer with Paratici also playing a huge part in brokering the deal that saw Arthur move the other way.

Pjanic has now appeared out of place in Spain and Barcelona is looking to offload him.

The Spanish club has a bloated wage bill and they remain determined to reduce it this summer as they deal with shortfalls in their revenue streams because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Diario Sport via The Sun says they are open to selling Pjanic and Tottenham have asked to take him for next season.

Barca signed him for £51.5million a year ago, but the report says they will allow him to leave them for free this summer.

Juventus is another club that wants him and Paratici knows it would not be easy to convince him to choose to move to London over a return to Turin where he enjoyed his football.
