Other Than A Bony Little Elbow, What Has Daniel Levy Got Up His Sleeve?

By The Boy -

Bruno Fernandes’ name has been doing the rounds – largely thanks to his club Sporting Lisbon and his agents working overtime to offload him on someone.

Here’s the showreel (which I half recall sharing last week) and to be blunt, I don’t see £50million worth of anything much.

The Daily Mail provide the welcome news that Tottenham are no longer linked with this distinctly average looking player.

According to the Mail, Manchester City have also swerved the chance to sign the boy.

It’s all well and good being sniffy – and in this instance, wisely so – but the inertia at Spurs is beginning to suffocate as usual.

As this blog suggested from the off, it all smacks of sell to buy. Again.

With Christian Eriksen’s ‘dream ticket’ transfer looking to be on ice, where is the money coming from?

The blockage could be pinned, in simple terms, upon Spurs failing to win the Champions League.

Were the cup sat in North London now, everybody’s stock would have risen and gossip about ‘attitude’ etc wouldn’t be happening.

Toby Alderweireld is another one who suddenly doesn’t appear to be moving quite yet. More funds we won’t have.

This blog provided a run down of the club’s financials using the expert eye of the Swiss Ramble and the fact remains, despite all the huffing and puffing, there’s far less money to spend on transfers than people might have thought.

My guesstimate before the window opened was that THFC needed to spend in the region of £200million on players just to stand still.

I’ve yet to see any reason to change my mind.

Levologists will tell us that young Daniel has a rabbit in his hat, or a trick or two up his sleeve.

Nigh on 20 years of this charlatan at the helm has shown us repeatedly, the only thing up his sleeve is a bony little elbow.

Meanwhile, Pochettino looks at his Audemars Piguet and asks himself what if anything the next four weeks hold.

It’s a poor league. That’s the context.

Great we don’t live in North Korea and are free to share opinions, tho, eh?

I’m not sure how much youve watched this guy or any football for that matter but to call him average, when his stats absolutely go completely the opposite way. 32 goals from midfield does not read as “average” stats

So odds slashed on us getting Clarke and sessignon. Not exactly ndombele or lecelso.

No idea Eddie, just typed in my usual username and email and there it was. Now if H could just get the reply function fixed we’re golden.

Nope that didn’t work, appeared as the newest post with your message quoted within it. How did you manage to get yours to look like a proper reply underneath my comment?

We’ll be fine. 20 years of last minute wrangling a cattle trader would be proud of and TWO, not one, TWO League Cup successes under the tutelage of self-confessed genius Levy, will ensure another season where we will not go bankrupt. So we can all be assured Spurs will be around to milk us dry for many year yet with every season we will be guaranteed to see that seasons Prem Champs shaking their booty at the wonderful and inspiring New Lane. Just won’t be us, so no ridiculous ego boost to worry about. COYS!

This Bruno Fernandes looks like a sort of decent mid table Premiership player but would do little to improve this Sours side.

Stop fucking about Levy and improve this football team. The stadium shtick is getting boring already and we’ve even lost to the fucking Spamheads there already!

Well funded football teams win stuff, not glass and weird cheese tunnels…

Nothing much will happen, it’s perennial. Much ado about nothing as usual. Levy is like one of those tarts in an Amsterdam red light district shop window, only the door always remains locked, despite his prancing about like a little fairy and waving his cheque book about.

Talking to a goner mate back in the UK just before lunch and he said TalkSport were talking about Poch disappearing off to Barcelona for an unspecified period of time leaving Herr Levy with a 200M shopping list and to contact him when he gets someone in.
At the moment Poch is in a good bargaining position and perhaps he has finally seen the writing on the wall.
Another subject we touched on was Poch to Chelsea. Not as daft as it sounds although they have the ban in place,as he could ship out some of the older players and work his magic with some of their good players from the U21’s and they have a few ( unlike us ).
I would hate to see it and Levy would be the stumbling block, but everyone has their price.Levy would profit, not that the team would, and Poch would get another increase.
I’ve seen crazier stories in the gossip columns.

Every summer the same waiting assessing monitoring the levyites All saying we can’t compete with the big boys well please tell me what we are doing what are your expectations ? Let’s do it the Tottenham way I guess that’s on the cheap and achieve the square root of nothing we got to the final oh great no one remembers losers top 4 well I checked and that doesn’t show on the honours list We can’t spend we will become Leeds. Levy is a master businessman I need convincing he’s took about 16 goes to get the right manager and that was by default without who we would never have got top 4 we are handed money hand over fist by tv companies premier league for doing basically what we exist to do play football and still no money to spend the ground you all shout well levy and co said categorically this would not affect transfers or was that before he lost complete control of the costs (master businessman ) then I look at he always has players on long contracts so as to extract the maximum fees when selling but clearly doesn’t quite grasp that works both ways supply and demand I think then I notice hey ho eriksen Toby jan are running down contracts please I could go on all day but master businessman give me a break

Unfortunately, as I wrote in a previous blog on your website, this current team is finished in terms of performance and has now aged. With the exception of Kane and probably Son, every other player is dispensable. Poch has taken us as far as he can under Levy’s mismanagement, and the only caveat to his inevitable departure is his lengthy and expensive contract. Levy will never perform to Poch’s satisfaction in the transfer market. All the stories in the Press over Spurs’s interest in variously expensive players are hokum.

I still maintain there’s ample cash available to do business, but for me the minute the Prince of darkness sits down with a player, that’s basically that. He won’t offer wages to compliment players of that transfer fee, come up with the same crap about how we tried and we are in a different situation to everyone else and the dumb dumb will take it all in. I don’t. It’s Bollox. And today I read that they are to spend a million doing some lounge up because it isn’t quite good enough. Didn’t you have long enough to sort that out? Only had 6 months extra. It’s the same old and I’m glad I’ve been on night s so don’t have to read the mountains of crap about we are keen on him, monitoring him, assessing him. Should already been done. A competent club would know basically everything they need to about someone by now. Oh yeah, the traditional hijacking of a deal. Hijacking was cool with Arab terrorists in the 70s, well run football clubs just get on with finding and signing players required
