Other clubs are interested in him but 22-year-old wants to join Tottenham

Fabrizio Romano says other clubs are interested in signing Takehiro Tomiyasu this summer, but the Japanese defender has decided to join Tottenham instead.

He has emerged as one of the players that could sign for Spurs this summer as they begin preparing for the 2021/2022 season.

The Lilywhites will likely shop a lot from the Italian market after naming Fabio Paratici as their latest director of football. He wants to sign the Bologna man.

Spurs have already started talks with their Italian counterparts but an agreement hasn’t been reached yet.

Romano insists Tottenham is the only English club currently negotiating a transfer for him.

He then adds that Atalanta is also keen to sign him, however, the player wants to move to the Lilywhites above other clubs.

Romano tweeted: “Tottenham are currently the only English club negotiating to sign Takehiro Tomiyasu. Talks ongoing with Bologna – Atalanta want him too but Spurs are leading the race. 🇯🇵 #THFC

“Tomiyasu wants to join Tottenham. Final decision soon. Arsenal are NOT in the race, as of now. #Spurs”

This will come as a major boost to Tottenham in their bid to sign him and they should take advantage of this to complete the transfer as soon as they can.
