One New Name Appears In The ‘Next Spurs Boss’ Debate But Can These Fans Be Serious?

As we’ve discussed at some length before today, the negative speculation surrounding José Mourinho began almost before he was hired as the Tottenham coach. The ‘I didn’t want him here in the first place’ brigade was rumbling healthily along when things were going well. It was therefore those voices against the Portuguese were only going to become louder when things took a turn for the worse.

The names of some prospective replacements have been bandied about, but beneath the desire to replace José there lurks the cold reality of whoever came in would be facing the same personnel, with the same limitations. Once we cut through the false equivalence of characters like Jamie Redknapp, any Spurs manager would be looking at just one or two elite players, a few excellent ones, and many more that have limited appeal. So limited that they would not ‘walk into another top-flight sides’ starting XI.

Would the soon-to-be relegated Scott Parker be able to get a better tune out of this mob, than Mourinho? These fans think so. What do you believe?
