One high profile Tottenham transfer rumour that can finally be put to rest

By Bruce Grove -

There will be a load of transfer rumours involving Tottenham this summer, some will be credible, while a lot of them will be simply fantastical. Gareth Bale returning to Tottenham is certainly one of the more unlikely ones and that is putting it politely.

Bale’s agent Jonathan Barnett has previously come out and stated that the Welshman will not be leaving Madrid this summer (BBC) and that has been solidified if the latest report from Mundo Deportivo citing the Daily Mirror is to be believed.

According to the Spanish publication, Bale has told his national team manager, Ryan Giggs, that he will be staying in the Spanish capital and intends to see out his contract with the Spanish champions.

This one is utterly dead in the water now, it was never likely to happen anyway and even if Bale was available there is no chance that Daniel Levy would have sanctioned his outrageous wages.

That said, even though we all know it will not happen I can guarantee you that this particular rumour will continue throughout the summer and it won’t be just from the red tops either, the high brow media will also run with it.

It is just too juicy a rumour for it to be allowed to die quietly and I will predict right now that on the final day of the transfer window that Spurs will be linked with a last-minute bid for their former playmaker.

Fake news is really bad journalism. These journos know what they are doing, covering themselves legally with words like ‘allegedly, apparently, supposedly, ostensibly, maybe’…. They know if they put the letters BALE in their headline then people are going to read it.. It’s not even fake news half the time now. It’s non news. Someones wildly inaccurate opinion. I believe they do it for newspaper buys and internet clicks.

Levy’s got that clubs card marked. You wait till our revenue over takes theirs. Its gonna happen. £1billion turnover. Tottenham London. Covid couldn’t stop it, could just slow it down briefly

ISCO is another one exposing our fictional “special relationship” with Real Madrid which purely headed in one direction with nothing in return!!
