Official Chelsea Twitter effortlessly trolls Spurs

It wasn’t supposed to be like this.

We were Champions League finalists, the team best equipped to challenge Manchester City and Liverpool, and promised a transfer revolution.

They were Europa League finalists (albeit winners – hey, what’s that like?) appointing a rookie manager, losing their best player and banned from replacing him for two transfer windows.

Twelve games into the season and the momentum has well and truly swung in London. Chelsea are third in the Premier League, playing attacking football and have a team full of exciting, young talent.

Tottenham Hotspur are languishing in 14th, haven’t played well for 12 months and have a stale team that looks long past its best before date.

And Chelsea could not resist mocking our struggles with a tweet showing the top 14 of the table. Not the top half. Not the whole table. The top 14.

February 2018-October 2019; our short run as London No.1, is over. We are back to being the butt of the jokes. Even Arsenal will pipe up soon.
