BBC pundit Clinton Morrison has singled out Tottenham defender for his poor performance on Sunday.
Tottenham started the game with Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven at the back but Romero was replaced with Sanchez in the 14th minute due to a concussion following a head injury.
Brentford responded to the goal with two goals in ten minutes to take a 2-1 lead which did not last long as Emerson Royal equalised in the stoppage time of the first half.
The game ended in a 2-2 draw but Morrison was not happy with Davinson Sanchez’s performance after coming on.
After Brentford took the lead, he wrote:
“Same old problems for Tottenham defensively.”
“Sanchez not good enough. Emerson Royal not good enough.”
“Brilliant play from Rico Henry down the left hand side, playing it back to Wissa, and his shot is deflected past Vicario.”
“What Brentford deserve but not good enough from Tottenham.”
Sanchez is not a player that Ange Postecoglou has in his plans and he would not have been involved yesterday had it not been for Romero’s unfortunate head injury. It is ireported that the Colombian among several others have been told they can leave the club.
The manager has already been vocal about the need to sign more centre-backs this summer and the club is being linked with the likes of Perr Schuurs, Edmond Tapsoba and Clement Lenglet.
Ideally, the manager would want to sign someone immediately to partner Micky van de Ven given Sanchez’s reputation of being prone to mistakes.
