‘Not a good character’: Former PL ace comments on 25-year-old heading to Tottenham

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur have agreed on a deal to sign the Villarreal winger Arnaut Danjuma on loan for the remainder of the season.

The 25-year-old Dutchman was expected to join Premier League side Everton and he completed his medical with the Merseyside outfit as well.

However, Spurs managed to hijack the transfer and the player has now joined the London club instead.

According to reports, Danjuma had a breakdown in his relationship with his teammates and that has forced Villarreal to consider sanctioning his departure this month.

Former Liverpool player and Premier League defender Jose Enrique has now warned (h/t HITC) that the 25-year-old winger is a good player but he’s not a good character in the dressing room.

Apparently, Enrique has heard about his attitude problems and he also claimed on his Instagram story that Danjuma does not work hard.

“Good player, but not a good character in the dressing room from what I hear about him,” said Enrique. “He doesn’t work hard enough either, for me.”

It will be interesting to see if the 25-year-old can help Tottenham improve during the second half of the campaign and secure Champions League qualification.

Antonio Conte needed to add more depth to his attack and the 25-year-old can play anywhere across the front three.

He managed to score 16 goals across all competitions last season and it remains to be seen whether he can hit the ground running in the Premier League.

As for the warning from Enrique, Tottenham fans will be hoping that the player does not affect the dressing room with his behavioral issues.
