Non-League Season Scrapped If They Void, Expect EPL Shockwaves & Perhaps Even A Daniel Levy Cartwheel

The National League, which is, in fact, the association for the country’s non-league sides – no, I don’t understand why they chose that name either – has decided to call a close their current season.

This will leave lower league chiefs with a colossal decision to make. Call the current non-league competitions null and void, or to undertake the unenviable business of some class of “pools panel” in order to force a conclusion to name winners, also-rans and those condemned to relegation without the opportunity to fight.

Should the National League’s chief Michael Tattersal opt to void their competitions, which might be the fairest choice, then the Premier League could find itself struggling to not follow suit.

The impact of a decision to void the Premier League season at Tottenham could send Daniel Levy cartwheeling down the High Road. Not only would his squad be physically reinvigorated by the prolonged rest, but Champions League football would also be restored.

As ever, the legal ramifications are likely to play an overwhelming part in any proceedings at any level, as the domino effect amongst sponsors, etc will need to be addressed in microscopic detail.
