At the moment it would seem he is well overpaid.He’s not unintelligent and would have know there would be very limited funds available for him and he couldn’t operate in his usual manner.
You could argue he wanted paying very well to inevitably fail and missing out on top four is the first fail.His job is to get the best out of the players,but at the moment he seems unable to get a response from them.

If he wanted glory he could have accepted half his salary,instead he is the highest paid manager in the PL.He wants the money because he knows how Levy operates and it’s not by lavishing money on the team.He’ll eat $hit for his 15M per annum.That’s much cheaper for Levy than improving the squad.
The board have done what they set out to do…build a property portfolio, but in doing so neglected a very good team that needed constant evaluation tweaks…we now have a HUGE debt and a pile of poo squad with mental issues…give or take a few years under Poch we have had a weak underbelly for decades….it comes from the top..why do people keep ignoring this fact..the Covid situation with staff and players summed it up. The players don’t see leadership or inspiration to win from the board so as much as you have your Kanes etc, when we need a striker or right back the club buy another midfielder and give new contracts to ones that should be moved on because buying the right player takes guts..

Mourinho’s salary is ludicrously over the top and should have been dependent on win bonuses. It will cost Levy a fortune to sack him which is inevitable.
Levy should have said if you get us top 4 I will put you on parity with jurgen klopp at £7m a year.
Instead he gave him double klopp’s salary irrespective of where the team finishes.
