Nicolò Schira: Personal Terms Agreed And Tottenham Have Offered A Deal Lasting Until 2026

link

Tottenham are up to their usual tricks and seeking to get their transfer business completed in the last week of the window, opposed to bringing targets into the fold in a more timely manner. In the last few days, it has emerged that the Director of Football, Fabio Paratici has more irons in the fire than just Adama Traore.

According to a sports journalist Nicolò Schira, personal terms have been reached with Porto ace Luis Diaz.

This is obviously great news, as Diaz is a superb player, but according to Sky Sports, Porto would be looking for €60m for the player. Tottenham’s current bid is a ‘mere’ €45m, with the threat of a further €10m in performance-related add-ons.

I take a view, perhaps unsurprisingly, that Tottenham are in no position to miss out on a player that looks such a perfect fit, and funds ought to be made immediately in order to facilitate a deal.

Very good point, if Conte is involved in this choice though I would expect that he won’t be another lazy, wage thieving c*nt, like Fat Bely…

Levy has always done a deal to placate the fans, to keep them engaged etc when he’s felt it has been needed. A complete con but it works on the gullible section of our support…

That’s because the Portuguese league is so sh*t. Lovely country though…

When we try to pay Porto in carry bags full of pennies we will lose our Portuguese fan base.

We need to swap out transfer committee for theirs, can we transfer them all in?

That was the “high point” in 12 transfer windows since the Poch era too. Levy was even worse for Rednapp and AVB.

Very true. BOYCOTT MATCHES AND STOP BUYING MERCH. Or expect the status quo to continue.

The problem for all of us on this site is that we’re all singing from the same songsheet.Unless our hatred of Levy/ENIC really spreads to the general fan base then there will be no change in the status quo.

We will be lumbered with them for the foreseeable future and the club will continue it’s decline.Levy in particular would appear to have alienated not only other clubs’chairmen, but possible incoming players. It’s outrageous.

There used to be a football club there.

Read that also. The potential difference between CL winners and runners-up who’s Chairman trousered a few quid so he didn’t lose The Moose on a free. What a can’t Levy really is.

I think the only reason we got Lo No Show was because Levy got him in on a loan.

So, Traore’s gone back to Barca. Blessing in disguise maybe. Or further proof Levy’s cocked up another potential transfer deal to save a few £

From memory N’Dombele took many months and the only reason we got him was because nobody else was in for him. Throughout the saga baldy needed counselling and was rushed to A & E several times because of the shock to his system. Lo No Show of course was a cheaper version of Fernandes.

He spent big on Lo Celso and N’dombele. He just spent badly. Transfers carry a risk at all levels. Levy is risk averse. I know I am in danger of sounding boring but I remain convinced that Paul Mitchell was the real difference between 5th -7th and top four regarding Spurs under Poch.

The signings of Dele, Son, Alderweireld, Trippier, Wimmer and Wanyama were the signings that got Spurs the 4 consecutive Champions League qualifications.

AVB had Lloris, Walker, Rose, Vertonghen, Dembele, Eriksen and Kane all available to him. When the group listed above arrived Spurs stepped up to the so called ‘next level’.

Spurs need someone like Mitchell. Will it be Paratici?

I think there’ll be at least one just to get the fans off his back and buy himself time. What difference one player can make I’m not sure.

Having lived in Porto for 5 years, the club have an ability to sell about half their team every season, always at a big profit and still make the Champions League and often to the knockout stages.

Traore deal seems dead. He doesnt want to be a RWB. Players everywhere dont want to come to Spurs. I reckon we will get ZERO across the line and Conte will walk.

Interesting from Tripss:

Tripper said: “After the Champions League final, it felt like the right time to move on. The media weren’t really on my side at the time and maybe I needed to get out of England for a bit just to clear my mind. I never looked back.
“What annoyed me … as you know, people in football speak and there are always rumours, but I know 100 per cent for a fact – and this is what I was most angry about – that two months before the end of the season, Daniel (Levy, the chairman) was offering me to other clubs.
“I knew for certain that was happening, so I knew my time there must be up. I was playing for my team-mates and the supporters, but I also knew I wasn’t wanted.”

“For me, the big one was selling Moussa Dembele that January,” Trippier said.
“I think I can speak on behalf of the players who were there. In the dressing room, he was an unbelievable person and all the lads loved him, but on the pitch he was the kind of player who would make a couple of per cent difference. That’s what wins you things.
“It baffled me that they would sell him. I know he was going to be a free (transfer) in the summer, but with the things we were challenging for, I would have kept him there and then let him go. He was the difference between winning a trophy or not.”

Amen to that. The time to bring in the top players was when we were CL regulars and contenders for the title. Even then Levy was obsessed with bringing in cheap players and punts, and haggling over a few mill despite all the massive CL money coming in. The guy just can’t help himself. He should be arrested for wilful neglect.

Reportedly none of the PSG midfield wanted to come to Spurs in a swap deal with Belly. Says it all really.

You mean we’re not a mid-table team that nobody decent wants to join now?

Spurs47

Agree with buying for NOW not future punts. Mid table might be about right given top four more or less taken care of and then there’s the rise of Newcastle who will splash the cash; Arsenal much improved; West Ham on the up; Aston Villa rejuvenated with Stevie G at the helm; Wolves giving more than a good account of themselves since they ditched NES; Brighton playing attractive stuff under Potter. I would hope Levy gets that and backs Conte now with some decent players. There are just 4 days left with no incomings yet which is a typical Levy window. I really believe Conte will walk if he is not backed properly in this window.

This has Bruno Fernandes & Reuben Dias all over it… expect no deal & / City or Liverpool to come steaming in, pay the clubs what they want & get the deals done, leaving us yet further behind.

A little memo for baldy; pay the asking price (if it’s fair) for quality players like Diaz and Dybala. Save the money to do so by stop buying kids (ie Clarke for £10m). Buy for the now not the future. Or by the time the future comes around we could be a mid table side that nobody decent will want to join.
Support Conte NOW.

Levy needs to make this work, 4 days to go, was looking around at other Spurs media blogs/channels last night and the movement is growing, patience is running thin…ENIC will never change unless there is mutiny…create mutiny…

I still worry that we’re not genuinely in for the guy. Probably another Dybala who will “just” get away.

Seems like a pretty solid addition that could *gasp* hit the ground running right away, which is why I’m suspicious of our interest. Alternatively, we can sign an 8M punt who doesn’t get a game for Fiorentina and won’t provide the squad with anything it doesn’t already have.

With Levy’s track record…I’m not confident. Either this falls through or we sign him and learn on day one he suffers from severe ndombelitis.

If we miss out on this guy due to a mere £5-10m then baldy should be tarred and feathered down the Tottenham High Rd. This lad will bring us goals and a front 3 of him, Kane and Son will send a message to the rest of the league that we are back.

‘I take a view, perhaps unsurprisingly, that Tottenham are in no position to miss out on a player that looks such a perfect fit, and funds ought to be made immediately in order to facilitate a deal.’

Will he take the personality, work ethic and professionalism test that NDombele took?

the fact that Porto are willing to trade in January might mean they want a quick sale at the right money. Over to you Baldy…
