New report claims four Tottenham players are set to be on the chopping block in January

According to The Times, Bryan Gil is among the players Tottenham are focusing on shifting in January.

The report claims that Eric Dier, Bryan Gil, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, and Hugo Lloris are all among players that Spurs will try to get rid of in the upcoming January transfer window.

It however adds that Spurs “may be needed after the injuries to Manor Solomon and Ivan Perisic”.

Gil has not had an opportunity to impress Ange Postecoglou as yet since he has been injured since the Australian’s arrival.

However, it has been suggested by Alasdair Gold that his versatility, ability and style of play would ‘fit nicely’ into the way Ange wants his players to play.

Bryan Gil’s journey at Tottenham Hotspur has been a mixed bag since joining from Sevilla in 2021.

The talented attacker arrived with high expectations, but under previous managers, he was not given sufficient opportunities to prove himself, leading to a lack of impact at the club.

Despite the transfer speculation in the summer, Gil expressed his desire to stay at Tottenham and fight for a spot in the team this summer.

His injury will see him be on the sidelines till late October, early November.

His return from injury could be timely as the injuries to Perisic and Solomon may allow him an opportunity to impress the new manager.

TBH says:

Tottenham should not get rid of him mid-season, specially when they are already working with a thin squad.

Gil certainly has the quality to be an important squad member for Ange this season.
