Report: Tottenham make new appointment behind the scenes in hope to solve a key issue

Tottenham Hotspur are not only focusing on bolstering their squad with new signings but, also making significant changes behind the scenes to enhance the club’s management.

The club appointed Scott Munn as their new Chief Football Officer earlier this season, as well as a new sporting director, Johan Lange.

Now, according to a report from Training Ground Guru, Spurs have brought in Nathan Gardiner as the new Head of Sports Science, replacing Sam Pooley, who is departing after a decade with the club.

As per his LInkedin profile, Gardiner has a long-standing association with Tottenham, dating back to 2006 when he initially joined as a fitness coach.

Over the years, he has held various roles within the club, including Head of Sports Science from 2012 to 2018 and Technical Coordinator and Head of Sports Science, Fitness, and Conditioning from 2018 to 2020.

He then left to join Scott Parker at Fulham as the first-team coach. However, as per the report, Garnier left Craven Cottage the following summer.

His extensive qualifications and skills, including expertise as a sports scientist, physiotherapist, and coach, make him highly qualified for the position.

Moreover, holding a UEFA A License and degrees in Sports Science and Physiotherapy further underline his credentials.

The appointment of Gardiner comes amid Tottenham’s injury woes this season, with over 21 players sidelined at various points and hamstring injuries being a common occurrence. With his expertise, Spurs will be hoping for improvements in managing and preventing injuries moving forward.
