Moussa Sissoko Sweeps As He Cleans For José Mourinho

Moussa Sissoko was another Tottenham player to have enjoyed a rock solid performance last night, picking up the abysmal midfield slack that was on show when we lost to Royal Antwerp. José Mourinho made 10 changes to the side that lost in the Europa League last time out.

What you get from Moussa under Mourinho is a right sided defensive midfielder whose primary purpose is to enforce Mourinho’s none shall pass doctrine, and to a significant extent that’s precisely what the big Frenchman did.

PASSING ACCURACY

A passing accuracy of 83% is pretty respectable, Moussa’s mean average for this discipline is currently a shade over 85%. Just 4 unsuccessful passes is no cause for concern at all.

RECOVERIES

Moussa made 9 recoveries, and 5 of these were in the Brighton half. It’s my belief that José is hoping to phase the now 31-year-old out in due course, and that the ideal midfield pairing for the Portuguese is a fully functional Lo Celso and Pierre Hojbjerg. Which means Harry Winks’ future is also worth considering…

A great, unsung hero type performance from the GOAT.
