Moussa Sissoko hints at how Tottenham can get the best from Serge Aurier

Moussa Sissoko has hinted that Serge Aurier is the type of player who needs to be put under pressure before he can perform.

The Ivorian has been given new competition at the club after they signed Matt Doherty from Wolves.

The new competition seems to be bringing the best out of him after his fine performance against Manchester United in Tottenham’s last Premier League game.

Sissoko was speaking to the Tottenham website and he claimed that players need a bit of pressure to perform at their very best and that is why Aurier is doing better now.

Spurs have strengthened their team in this transfer window with Jose Mourinho having at least two players in each position.

Sissoko reckons that the competition for a place in the team is very good to see and that it makes the players perform at their best in training and in matches.

“That’s Serge’s character and if you want to have the best of someone, you need to put a bit of pressure on him, and that’s what we have now, a strong squad,” Sissoko told the Spurs website.

“You can see in every position, two, three or four players. You have to give 100 percent in every training session, in every game and that’s also good because if someone is tired, someone else can play and it won’t affect the team.

“This will help everyone as a player, as a team, as a squad. It will be good for everyone.”
