Mourinho Won’t Dwell On Manchester United’s Penalty Winning Record|video

By The Boy -

Fair play to the gaffer, and I’m not sure as to the thinking behind this question, after all, it’s not as if Mourinho is going to start bawling about cheating and whatnot, that wouldn’t be a good look.

Spurs have a lot of work ahead of them against this mob and the last thing we might seek to do is enter the tie with a victim mentality – which is effectively what this would do. Hopefully, our lot can rouse themselves from whatever deeply hard-done-by state they might be slumbering in and put in a performance that doesn’t cost us all another TV set.

This guy Alasdair Gold seems to have carved out some sort of reputation as being more in-the-know than others; maybe he is. However his use of any inside knowledge is not generally more imaginative than any any thinking blogger with an IQ upwards of 120.

Now given than the majority struggle to hit three figures, this might elevate him in some people’s minds, but I struggle to see anything more than compliance to the line coming from him. Indeed his stance on many things reminds me of the Supporters Trust, genuflecting and tipping the forelock to ensure the supply of scraps is maintained.

Both Gold and the Trust have always reminded me of “Squealer” from Animal Farm, disseminating approved, on-message scraps of information that the club want to feed to the media whilst retaining deniability.

Gold appears to be building on this under the guise of insight which those sub IQ100 scorers lap up. I see more toadyism than journalism and a bloke that will not bite the hand that feeds him, unless approved to do so……..

Thought so, I wonder if anyone will bottle asking Alasdair Gold why he bottled asking Jose Mourinho to clarify the Toby omission. And if that will set off some kind of Bottleception.

Not sure if this conference is still going on, did Alasdair Gold ask or did we get any clarification on Toby’s omission from the squad to play the barcodes? Or did Gold bottle it?

I’ve seen Football London have posted an article about the above and about Jose’s tribute to the Royals, but nothing else.
