Mourinho Was Caught Out So Maybe He Should Just Tell The Press He Calls The Shots And That’s An End To It|opinion

By The Boy -

Arguably the biggest topic of debate amongst fans recently has been the rather confusing situation surrounding Toby Alderweireld’s availability ahead of the Newcastle game last weekend.

We covered this matter, of course, and flagged by Alasdair Gold who spoke out on his YouTube channel about the lack of sense that existed between what José said and what was witnessed by everyone. The reporter said,

“Alderweireld not only was in photos on Thursday from training but in a video on Friday was also shown in training. So for Mourinho to say that he wasn’t training until Saturday and that he didn’t do any training until the final day. I’m hoping we get clarity on Friday because it made no sense…”

Was either sense or clarity forthcoming yesterday in the presser? Eventually is the answer. Well, sort of. The portion of the presser with that question was embargoed until 1030 pm. Funny that.

Then, when Jonathan Veal asked about the inconsistencies in last week’s events, the gaffer snarled his way through it. Suggesting that the press had already made up their minds.

The best way to diffuse such a situation is, to tell the truth, not snap, ‘well, you think I’m lying, so I shan’t answer you!’

This was an embarrassing moment for José and hats of to the club for the dead cat that was the Prince Phillip business. Well played.

Maybe he doesn’t wanna tell people what’s going on. Maybe Toby is a bad negative egg too. Who fkin knows. Maybe José wants to keep people from knowing. Riddle them up yes. José knows what he’s doing re the media.

So Maureen dug a little verbal hole for herself and had to stand in it, no wonder she looks a little smaller at the minute. Some might say that’s at least consistent with her overall management style at this club just recently.

The most worrying aspect of this is that Mourinho judged that leaving Toby out and playing that backline In an away match that was a must win was the correct decision. Then the cackhanded excuse he rolled out indicating that he has probably done it before to justify decisions he has made. No surprise perhaps that it is not a happy camp behind the scenes

It would have been ‘interesting’ with fans in this season. Wonderful stadium, terrible football. Now that’s a brand! 😂

Jose talking in his usual riddles when faced with a tricky question. How unusual… 🤔

He’s not enjoying himself much these days is he? Probably better if football had just stopped until fans(the thing that make the sport what it is) are allowed back in grounds…or, the proper way, just don’t take them out in the first place….everyone’s in a funk….except Man City of course, but it’s no real difference for them on account of their ground being dead anyway. Maine Road, now that was certainly not dead.
