Mourinho wants Fiorentina man as he continues his rebuild

Jose Mourinho has made Nikola Milenkovic a transfer target as he continues to rebuild his Tottenham team.

The Portuguese manager has struggled to get a good centre-back pairing at Spurs this season.

He can choose from Toby Alderweireld, Davinson Sanchez, Eric Dier and Joe Rodon, but none of them has performed consistently in this campaign.

The Special One will look to bolster his options when the transfer window reopens and Calciomercato reports that he wants Milenkovic.

Spurs aren’t the only team looking to sign him and they will have to see off competition from Liverpool and Manchester United from England.

Inter Milan and AC Milan also want to land him and this represents significant competition for Spurs.

The Italians will feel that they have a better chance, as he might want to remain in Italy.

Talksport states Mourinho has been a long-term admirer as he considered signing him when he managed Manchester United in 2018.

The defender will have a year left on his current deal at the end of this season and that could force his current team to sell him in a cut-price move.

Mourinho would have too many centre backs if Milenkovic joins and he may then offload one or more of his current central defenders.
