Whilst many will be whooping and cheering the exit of José Mourinho from Tottenham today, the stark reality is that has only heightened Harry Kane’s focus to reevaluate where he is in terms of his career path.
A source close to the club told The Boy this afternoon that Harry Kane’s respectful tweet towards the Portuguese spoke volumes, saying, “Kane really bought into José and sincerely believes that his trajectory as a player was enhanced by Mou’s time at Spurs. H is properly saddened by what’s happened today, he’s too old for another rebuild”.
There is a lot to assimilate from all of today’s news; from the articulated truck that is the European Super League – to the sacking of Mourinho. But by the same token, all that will count is how Spurs fair post-Mourinho.
Can Spurs keep Kane is now the story and will continue to be the story for the rest of the season. Removing Mourinho has once more left the club a state of flux.
