Mourinho Reveals That The Penny Has Finally Dropped For Harry Kane

Last night a small whirlwind of speculation broke when it became evident that Harry Kane hadn’t travelled to the Puskás Aréna. The first thought of many fans was that the England captain has managed to pick up a niggle in training. According to José Mourinho, Harry made the decision based on him listening to his body.

This is quite a u-turn from a player who has endless form for involving himself in utterly meaningless games, that really didn’t need him putting himself at risk.

Quite why it took Kane so long to work out that against minor European sides, we could survive without him is anyone’s business – in the gaffer’s post-match comments in the Independent are modest to the point of saying that the initiative lay with the 27-year-old – who knows, perhaps it did? All I know is that whilst this is a relief, it’s at least 6 years too late.
