Mourinho Makes Pochettino Look Like ‘The Bus Parking One’

Garth Crooks has praised Jose Mourinho for unleashing Tottenham Hotspur’s new-look front four on the Premier League.

In his weekley BBC Sport column, the former Spurs striker named Lucas Moura in his Team of the Week following his “beauty” of a goal at Molineux.

The Brazilian was often the odd man out under Mauricio Pochettino, and Crooks believes that Mourinho is being rewarded for his “audacity” in playing Lucas alongside Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Son Heung-min.

“Watching Moura, Harry Kane, Son Heung-min and Dele Alli all in the same line-up and away from home is audacious and brilliant and the difference between Jose Mourinho and Mauricio Pochettino,” Crooks wrote.

A lot of people expected that Mourinho’s initial impact would be to secure us defensively, but he has actually released the offensive shackles.

Dele Alli has been the main beneficiary of this, but Lucas has also been a success story with three goals in five Premier League starts.

Being left out of the Champions League final line-up, in the circumstances, must have been a crushing blow to the 27-year-old, but Mourinho has helped restore his confidence, and that of several of his teammates.
