‘Medical will take place in the next days’ Sky Germany man delivers verdict on Tottenham transfer

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur have reached an agreement with German outfit Wolfsburg for Micky van de Ven.

According to journalist Florian Plettenberg, the 22-year-old Dutch defender is expected to arrive in London on Saturday and he will undergo a medical with the Premier League club in the next few days.

The defender is expected to sign a long-term contract with Tottenham until the summer of 2028 or 29. The Premier League outfit will pay a fee of around €50 million including add-ons.

Tottenham have been linked with a move for the Dutch defender for weeks and the fans will be delighted with the latest developments.

The 22-year-old has had an impressive campaign with Wolfsburg and he could prove to be a quality long-term acquisition for the North London club.

Van de Ven will add defensive quality and pace to the Tottenham backline. His recovery pace could prove to be invaluable, especially in Ange Postecoglou’s free-flowing attacking system.

Spurs were quite vulnerable defensively last season and they will need to improve in the department if they want to finish in the top four and get back into the Champions League.

Van de Ven will be excited about the opportunity to showcase his qualities in the Premier League and he will look to hit the ground running.

The 22-year-old certainly has the ability to succeed in the Premier League and it remains to be seen whether he can establish himself as a key player for Spurs. The Dutchman is expected to be the ideal long-term partner for Cristian Romero at the heart of Tottenham’s defence.
