Marcus Edward Hits Micheal Jackson Levels Of Detachment

By The Boy -

This is Edward’s favourrite game for Excelsior. The clip starts just after after FC Emmen have gone ahead, 1-0. The play up until that point had largely been all Excelsior.

This game was referenced in Edward’s interview piece in the Telegraph with Jack Pitt-Brooke.

For those bizarrely still holding a candle for the lad…

For boy who has yet to achieve anything beyond the Messi comment that Pochettino later acknowledged was a mistake, he sure is full of himself.

“I think some people don’t understand me. I don’t know, I think maybe it’s the way I talk.”

“I think maybe it was a bit unfair. The whole situation that happened at Norwich, it already played onto what Pochettino said. Even though I was definitely a lot younger then, that’s when I was growing up. It was a big misunderstanding.”

These are Michael Jackson levels of detachment.

The truth is, Edwards signed a professional contract with THFC but his attitude during the process soured the entire situation and his career at Spurs stalled.

At Norwich, he couldn’t even be bothered to arrive for training on time.

The lad says he’s matured, but this feels like it’s what he knows he has to say in order to ‘explain’ his career flatlining.

For those quick to bleat in the 20 year old’s defense, any 16 yeat old who gets a pro contract at Spurs, who fails to then treat every day thereafter feeling humbled by it all, is a first rate fool.

With one year remaining on his Spurs deal, this interview was clearly designed to remind people he was alive and well, and not still somewhere between Diss and Norwich, with his phone switched off.

There’s no sense of contrition in the interview, perhaps that too is down to the way he talks, eh?

Happy moonwalking, Marcus.

He has potential but doesn’t realise it that it takes more than that yo suceed at too level. May be he needs a chat with John Bostock If the penny hasnt dropped then its only going to go one way.

For me there is another young prospect out on loan who I think can develop into a world beater. That is Samuel Shashoua for me he is far and away more gifted with the ball at his feet. COYS

This lad is perhaps the most over-hyped academy product i have seen in all my years supporting this great club. I would also happily make the prediction that this lad will never start a premier league game for us, not even come on as a sub, and would even be prepared to put money on it !!

He’s a waste of space and the interest in him from our own fans only serves to reiterate how sad many of them are.

I have seen some greats in my long Football viewing and i can honestly say Edwards passes every test my keen??poses to spot talent. The Norwich fiasco was plain and simple Maddission out for monthe young Edwards chance to shine. But a mirackle happened Norwich Maddision nade a recovery from what was deemed a 2 month or more injury. This left Edwards sat watching Maddision earn a move to Leicester. Would any player who got a taste of glory against the Gills likened to Messi by Poch then ignored for months sit and watch no. He came back Captained under 19 to quarter finaks for 1st time starring v Real Madrid and Dortmund then instead Captaining 19 to Glory he was loaned to Excelsior. There he got rave revues from some of is older players stai g like i have about is outsanding abilaty i belive he should be in 21 tournament right now. So Harry H this one Story you got badly wrong not MJ but the best Dribbler since GBest

The only thing I disagree with in what you’ve written, Harry, is the suggestion that someone his age had his phone switched off.
