Manchester City’s Nathan Ake linked with Tottenham switch

The central defence is a top priority for Tottenham Hotspur this summer, and the north London club is linked to various players that will fill this need on the squad. Manchester City’s Nathan Ake is the latest name to be connected to Spurs.

According to 90min, Chelsea, Tottenham, and West Ham United are among the Premier League clubs eyeing the 27-year-old this summer. Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is a fan of Ake and the home-grown status that his stint at Chelsea brings to the squad.

However, despite being a fan of the defender, the Spanish tactician is prepared to part ways with the 27-year-old if the proper bid comes their way.

Some interested clubs would like a loan deal, and whether the Premier League champions would consent to a temporary exit remains to be seen. However, Manchester City would favor a permanent sale, ruling some sides out of the race.

The report doesn’t state how much they would want for Ake, but Transfermarkt puts the defender’s value at £23 million.
