Manchester City prepared to wait for a year to get Kane

Manchester City is prepared to play the waiting game in their bid to sign Harry Kane.

The Premier League champions have been linked with a move for the England captain and he has told Tottenham that he wants to leave.

Kane’s motivation to exit north London is that he wants to win team trophies and Spurs are struggling to achieve that now.

The Lilywhites last won a major trophy in 2008 and have been trophyless since Kane broke into their first team.

The striker has now asked to leave, but Daniel Levy is a cut-throat businessman who isn’t always ready to sell his top stars.

He will make things hard for City which has emerged as his most likely next club.

ESPN says the Citizens recognise that it would be hard to sign him from Tottenham before next season considering that he has three more years to run on his current contract.

Because of that, they are prepared to wait for a year to get their man when he would have just two seasons left on his current deal.

Kane remains one of the best strikers in the world and if Tottenham wants to end their trophy drought next season, they have to keep him.
