Manager who spoke to Spurs in January wanted by another Premier League club

Leeds United are looking to bring in a proper replacement for manager Jesse Marsch who was sacked following a series of poor performances.

According to Claudio Mauri, former Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly on the radar of Leeds United. The Londoners held talks with the Argentine manager in January and it will be interesting to see if he decides to take over at Elland Road in the coming weeks.

Pochettino is currently without a job following his departure from Paris Saint Germain at the end of last season. He has been linked with clubs like Real Madrid as well.

Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte has been linked with a move away from the club at the end of the season.

The Italian manager will be a free agent in the summer and Spurs have not managed to agree on a contract extension with him yet.

Ideally, Spurs will want to hold on to the Italian for as long as possible but they could turn to their former manager if Conte decides to move on.

Pochettino did an exceptional job at Tottenham before he was dismissed and he helped the London club challenge for the Premier League title and the UEFA Champions League trophy during his time at the club.

Leeds have had a disappointing season so far and Pochettino would be quite a coup for them. The Argentine could help them survive the drop to the Championship at the end of the season.

However, a manager of his caliber might want to join a club capable of winning major trophies and it remains to be seen how the situation develops over the next few weeks.
