Major boost for Spurs as Paul O Keefe shares the latest on the return of three injured players

Paul O Keefe has shared the latest update on Tottenham defender Micky van de Ven’s return from injury.

The Dutch defender suffered a hamstring injury during the game against Chelsea back in November and has been sidelined since then.

While initial reports suggested he would be out until February, recent reports claim that he is ahead of schedule in his recovery.

The player revealed during his appearance at the Darts a week ago that he will be back in a couple of weeks. And manager Ange Postecoglou also gave a similar timeline for his return, claiming that the player could be back for the United game.

And now Paul O Keefe has shared the defender’s return to the first-team is ‘imminent’. He claims that, barring any late set-backs, he could be available for the game against Manchester United.

He also revealed that James Maddison is still being assessed, but is likely to make it for the Brentford game.

Sharing the update on X, he said:

“Micky van de Ven’s return to the first team is imminent. Ange will make a decision whether to include him Friday’s squad or Manchester United baring any late setback. Maddison still assessing and probably Brentford more likely than United currently. Solomon close too #THFC”

This update will come as a massive boost for Spurs. Both Micky van de Ven and James Maddison have been sensational for Spurs since signing in the summer, and their absence has been hugely felt.

Spurs are only 1 point behind 4th place Arsenal and just 6 points behind 1st place Liverpool.

Which is why their return will be a massive boost for Ange who will want to build on his terrific form and aim to go all the way.
