Tottenham and England midfielder James Maddison was seen leaving the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on crutches with his foot in a protective boot, at the time it was suggested that the medical measures were purely precautionary.
Naturally, Spurs will be hoping that James Maddison’s injury scare is nothing too serious after that tremendous win against Manchester United this weekend. That said, as we know from Ange Postecoglou’s reaction to Cristian Romero’s head injury in the clash against Brentford at the G-Tech Stadium. The new gaffer was roundly acknowledged as having done the right thing with the Argentinian and acting on the side of caution. Any head injury to a footballer is always a potentially serious matter.
FA intermediary Paul O’Keefe understands that James’ injury is a minor strain to the ankle/foot and ought not to be significant.
O’Keefe added that Spurs are unlikely to force the issue under Big Ange.

Bournemouth away this coming weekend will be tough, but not the toughest big match of the season.
Ideally, Maddison would be available, but in we don’t live in an ideal world.
It would surely be in everyone’s interest to have any injured player fully recovered before returning to action.
Tottenham has been massively improved this season which has plainly been down to a number of factors, Maddison is one huge positive, and so are the contributions of Yves Bissouma and Mata Pape Sarr. For this game, it might be the case that, subject to medical advice, Spurs take one on the chin.
