Tottenham agreed on a deal with Hajduk Split to sign the highly talented defender Luka Vuskovic in 2023.
The defender will complete his move to Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2025, and the 17-year-old is currently on loan at KVC Westerlo.
Vuskovic has been quite impressive for the Belgian club so far, and he has established himself as a key player. The 17-year-old has scored four goals and assisted once in 10 matches.
Former scout Bart Tamsyn has now heaped praise on the incoming Tottenham defender and claimed that he has qualities every scout looks out for. Vuskovic is regarded as a world-class talent with a bright future and he is expected to develop into a star in future. It will be interesting to see if Tottenham can nurture him into a first-team player in the coming seasons.
Tamsyn said (h/t SportWitness): “I watched that match (UEFA Youth League final 2022-23) via WyScout and was immediately captivated. At kick-off he immediately got the ball and during the game he kept ticking off qualities that every scout looks for in the Jupiler Pro League.”
The North London club need more quality and depth in the central defensive unit and the 17-year-old will certainly look to force his way into the starting lineup in the near future.
There is no doubt that he has the talent to succeed at the highest level, and Tottenham will have to nurture him carefully. He will need regular first-team exposure in order to continue his development. It remains to be seen whether Ange Postecoglou glue is ready to make him part of Tottenham’s first-team squad next season.
The teenager is too good to sit on the bench at a big club at this stage of his career and Tottenham will have to handle his development carefully.
The 17-year-old is an elite talent and he could establish himself as a key player for the Premier League club in future. If he manages to fulfil his potential with them, he will end up saving millions for them in the transfer market.
