‘Long time admirer’ Postecoglou wants to keep Spurs flop who Conte didn’t want

Tanguy Ndomeble could he handed one last chance to save his Tottenham career.

That’s according to the latest report from French outlet L’Equipe (as reported by Sport Witness), new Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou is a ‘long time admirer’ of the midfielder and is willing to hand him a unlikely lifeline at Tottenham.

As per the report, if the French midfielder manages to impress the Australian during the pre-season, he will have a space in the Tottenham midfield.

Ndombele joined Tottenham from Lyon in 2019 for a club-record fee of £63m. However, he has failed to live up to expectations and has failed to impress any of the managers who have been in charge of the club during his time there.

He was loaned to Napoli last season where he won the League title with them. The Italian club is said to have wanted to sign him on a permanent deal this summer but at a reduced fee. According to the report, they were willing ‘to spend €20m’ on him.

The midfielder is not short of options, as the report claims that if he fails to impress in the pre-season, he has opportunities from Europe.

He also has interest from Saudi Arabia who have been very actively splashing the cash to lure prominent players to the Saudi Pro League.

It is worth noting that there has been previous reports suggesting that the club have considered terminating the player’s contract.

Hence, If he fails to impress Ange Postecoglou and does not receive a transfer offer either, it is very much possible that the club will terminate his contract in order to reduce their wages.
