London club now keen on selling player to Tottenham before deadline day

By Mehdi Gokal -

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly showing strong interest in signing Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo.

A previous report from Football London claimed that the North London club has been closely monitoring the 6 feet 5 centre-back for some time, and according to Tottenham expert Alasdair Gold, the player himself is keen on a move to Spurs.

With Adarabioyo’s contract set to expire in the summer of 2024, talks over a new contract with Fulham have collapsed, opening up the possibility of a transfer.

Tottenham are looking to bolster their defensive options and have identified Adarabioyo as a potential solution.

AS Monaco are another club that have been interested in signing the defender but Nice-Matin reported three days ago that links with the French club has slowed down due to interest from Tottenham.

But according to RMC Sport, the player is keen on a move to the Ligue 1 side but Fulham ‘want to send’ him to Tottenham instead.

This is because Fulham are interested in signing Tottenham defender Eric Dier and they would rather sell to Adarabioyo in order to maintain good relations with the club.

As things stands, the report claims that Monaco have already agreed personal terms with the player and have offered him a better deal as well as guaranteed playing time.

If Tottenham are seriously interested in signing him, they will have to offer the player better terms than the French side as well as agree on a fee with Monaco.

The need for another centre-back remains with several players linked. Whether Tottenham can get another defender in before the transfer window shuts remains to be seen.
