“Loan deal has been agreed…” – Fabrizio Romano shares update on Tottenham defender

By Mehdi Gokal -

Tottenham defender Luka Vuskovic is on the verge of joining Belgian side Westerloo on loan, according to the latest update from transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Earlier reports indicated that Tottenham had decided to loan the Croatian prospect to Westerloo, and Romano has now confirmed that a deal has been agreed upon.

The transfer expert shared on X:

“Tottenham future defender Luka Vusković, on the verge of joining Belgian side Westerloo. Understand loan deal has been agreed on player side with Croatian 2007 born defender. Paperwork pending between Hajduk Split and Westerlo to approve the loan and sign.”

The only remaining step is the completion of paperwork between Hajduk Split and Westerloo, which is expected to be finalised imminently.

Tottenham secured the signing of Luka Vuskovic from HNK Hajduk Split last summer.

The 17-year-old centre-back, is set to officially join Spurs in 2025, when he turns 18.

Vuskovic signed a contract with Tottenham until 2030, with the transfer valued at £12 million.

In January, Vuskovic was loaned to Polish club Radomiak Radom until the end of the season.

During his stint in the Polish Ekstraklasa, he showcased immense potential, featuring in eight games, starting seven of them, and contributing two goals and one assist.

Tottenham fans have high hopes for Vuskovic, who has already displayed the attributes of a top-class defender.

His impending loan to Westerloo is seen as another valuable step in his development before he officially joins Tottenham.

Comparisons are already being made to Micky van de Ven, another talented defender who has made a significant impact at Tottenham.

With Vuskovic’s ongoing development and another season on loan to gain experience, Spurs supporters have every reason to be excited about his future at the club.
