Liverpool fearful Tottenham could swoop in for Jurgen Klopp target this summer

By Saikat -

Liverpool have been linked with a move for the Argentine international midfielder Alexis Mac Allister.

A report from 90 Min claims that Liverpool are hoping to wrap up a deal for the 24-year-old central midfielder soon.

Apparently, the Reds are fearful that their rivals could make a move for the World Cup winner and they are hoping to get the deal done quickly.

Tottenham are reportedly keeping tabs on the Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder. However, the North London giants do not have a permanent manager in place, and they are unlikely to go through with a new signing before an appointment has been made.

Liverpool are looking to get the deal done before Tottenham bring in a new manager this summer.

Journalist Graeme Bailey has now revealed in a podcast that Tottenham’s new manager could look to sign the player in the summer and that could complicate things for Liverpool.

Spurs have been linked with Julian Nagelsmann and Luis Enrique in recent weeks. It remains to be seen who they bring in as their long-term replacement for Antonio Conte.

He said via TBR: “Liverpool are trying to get Mac Allister done now because of situations like this. Suddenly, is he on Manchester City’s radar? Who better to play behind Alvarez.

“They want to get it done before Tottenham’s new manager comes in place. What if Luis Enrique ends up there and he wants him? Does Pochettino want him at Chelsea?”.

Ryan Mason is currently the caretaker manager at the North London club.

Spurs could certainly use a quality central midfielder like Mac Allister add the 24-year-old will add some much-needed creativity and flair to the Tottenham midfield.

The Brighton star has been one of the best midfielders in the Premier League this season and he could be a quality acquisition for both Liverpool and Tottenham.
