Liverpool announces three positive COVID-19 tests ahead of fixture versus Tottenham

By Eddie Razo -

Tottenham Hotspur could potentially have their third straight Premier League matchup postponed. Ahead of the Sunday matchup against Liverpool FC, The Reds announced that they have three players who will miss the matchup in their trip to north London due to a positive COVID-19 test.

Fabinho, Curtis Jones and Virgil van Dijk will not be in the lineup for Jürgen Klopp. Furthermore, the three players are now in isolation, and after another round of testing, there were no positive tests.

As of now, all systems go for this match to take place, but the Premier League has seen games postponed a couple of hours before kick-off, so this fixture isn’t out of the woods yet.

Should the match continue, Tottenham might be looking to take advantage offensively with no van Dijk anchoring the backline for Liverpool.

Both teams could use the win Sunday as Tottenham pushes for a top-four spot as they sit four points away from Arsenal with three games in hand. Meanwhile, Liverpool wants to remain on par with Manchester City for the league title.

There you go…. Of course it is different for everyone so no not necessarily! The ‘majority’ of people that is the case if you include no symptoms. Alot of people will experience nothing at all… But others die man.. Even fit and healthy and young have died from it… There are many old and vulnerable and they deserve to be protected.. After the government dithered too many have died already…. Your ‘mild flu’ and laughing snotty little ‘know it all’ brat like comments are disgusting… I know people who have died from it and because of it, and they probably caught it from someone like you playing it down constantly… It’s no laughing matter and much more deadly than mild flu..

Not all of us are rubbishing vaccines, or all of the measures the authorities are taking my friend. A lot of it though had been atrociously handled, certainly here and I suspect in the U.S too.

We have a right to complain about many more people dying from other things in the name of Covid measures. I’m no expert, but I know when something is just f*cking wrong…

If you’ve been either vaccinated, previously infected, non-vulnerable or all of these things, then mild flu is what you will experience. You’re saying that isn’t the case are you? 😂

Washing hands, masks only in specific environments and distancing do prevent spread. Wider mask wearing and vaccines have little or no effect.

Of course I realise we all die! Your argument is flawed though.. Of course vaccines, social distancing, washing hands and masks prevent spread! Everyone isn’t told to follow rules for fun .. If someone reaches 65 in this country then it’s 50 50 whether they reach 85… It astonishes me that so many idiots are so careless. The old may not have as long left as you, this doesn’t make them less important… You have a selfish and scummy view.

I said that vaccines do ‘help’ prevent spread. A simple google search can educate you on the basics in 5 minutes…. You have repeatedly named it ‘mild flu’ on other posts, which is care free for sure.. Yes you do chat 💩

oh great, i drop in to read about spurs and find out that in england you have just as many “now i’m a health expert” a$$holes as we do in the states. got to go listen to joe rogan to see what i can do about my cancer, then i’m going to watch this youtube guy, really smart guy, tell me how to handle my heart disease.

i mean, what do the CDC and doctors, who’ve spent their entire lives studying this stuff, or vaccines, which have been developed over 250 years, mean? nothing in the face of some GENIUS in the comments on a spurs blog.

a pox on you all. but not covid. that pox really sucks.

I’m not anti vax and I’ve had my two jabs, I also had Covid early last year. I’m talking about the disproportionate responses by government, and not just ours. I don’t see the booster roll out to all over 18 and the non-vulnerable as beneficial to anyone but corporations like Pfizer.

I don’t believe we should be ‘care free’ about it, what a complete pile of sh*t.

So why are the vast majority of people contracting Covid twice over already vaccinated? How did they even catch it one wonders, if as you say vaccines stop spread? Pray tell. 🤔

Of course, well said, we will get to the point where at any given time, say 35% of the population with have Omn-con this winter, and therefore well over 35% of all deaths from other causes if still recorded with 28 days as Covid.will be attributed to it.

Then they have their (wildly exaggerated) death rate figures to justify the ultimately pointless 3rd jab rollout to all over 18.

it’s scandalous

govt will ‘prove’ proportionate response in By the New Year as all deaths within 28 days of a positive test will be listed as covid deaths. As Omicron breezes through the population every single death will be attributed to covid under current policy. ONS only divide data down to with/from two weeks later, so policymakers will have a field day in the meantime.

But you do realise death is natural, and the average age of death is your gran’s age, yes?

while it’s painful when any family member dies, it does eventually happen. Making everyone get vaccinated/masks/social distance, doesn’t prevent death in those who are approaching the end of their lives.

Vaccines do help prevent spread. Do you not know anything about vaccinations and how they work on the herd?… You and Gazza rant on as if you’re both experts. So much of it drivel and incorrect I’ve started skipping your posts altogether…. Having this selfish care free ‘covid fear conspiracy’ attitude is dangerous. People won’t follow protocols like social distancing if they think like you two. Yes the majority of people are not in danger, but it’s about protecting the weak and the old and the vulnerable…. Its far worse than flu for many, it’s different for everyone…. I live with my gran whos 82. Of course I’m worried she’ll get it.. It killed Norman bite yer legs Hunter and he was 77.

You’re welcome. It seems this government induced panic over Omni-Con is worryingly disproportionate, given all of the logic and science. I mean, universally accepted science, not some crackpot theory only available to view on the dark web.

The first round I’ve double vax was one thing, but they’re taking the p*ss expecting everyone over 18 to have a third jab in five months.

Personally I feel there will eventually be a backlash one people realise how utterly fruitless and pointless half of this stuff is we are being asked to do. That’s when it will stop, when they lose the majority…

Much obliged to Gascoigne & Easty for your responses to my rather late in the day requests for links several posts ago. Interesting, though confusing due to contradictory info in articles, ain’t that the way. I am, like many, finding what and who to believe rather an awkward exercise. The current response to Omicron, I agree, seems puzzling.

But back to the football …………. oh, wait ………

What makes perfect sense (and thus will never happen) is for Spurs to gracefully bow out of the UEFA thing to allow ample time for rescheduled games.

The cult of Covid.

Personally I’m not anti-vax, nor am I denying that it is a serious illness for those vulnerable to it.

What I object to is spreading fear, and letting far more people die of other causes down to their measures, because the incompetent, self serving the government and health service can’t do anything other than focus on Covid, rather than look after everyone properly.

This latest booster jab to all over 18 thing is just farcical.

Motivated chiefly by their multi billion dollar deal with Pfizer…

Makes sense they’d use this to kill 2 birds with one stone and mess with the Xmas period football, they’ve been trying to get rid of Xmas football for a few years. Another much loved British tradition destroyed. Funny there’s no problems in fixtures elsewhere around Europe?? But then, they ain’t got boosts to shift. Scrap the Prem for all I care, it’s only good for making money from, WWE toss. It’s just a tool for them to use to ply their social engineering…need a race scandal,? a convid outbreak? The Premier lge clubs are there to serve. Omicron delta. Anagram of media control.

We have flu outbreaks most winters, some fixtures get moved if a club have lots of players come down with it badly.

I wouldn’t put it down to positive tests, I would base it on how fit the players feel. If they have too many Sick then fair enough, however, including asymptotic or mild positive tests as a reason to call off matches is just a waste of everyone’s time.

There has to come a time where we have to live with this thing and if it spreads it spreads. Our great, grandchildren will have Covid 19, which will be nothing more than a slight blocked nose for a couple of days. OMNI-CON Is the beginning of that process. in fact we might have largely asymptotic Covid 19 as the dominant strain even within months rather than years.

The point is though even if it is “just flu” it’s undeniably contagious and people cant play football with flu.

Plus, if there’s an incubation period there could be other players with it not showing symptoms yet who then spread it to the other team during the match and then thats two clubs with an outbreak. Before you know it, there’s a dozen players at most clubs and the Premier League needs to suspend the whole thing.

Apart from being a rather futile exercise, what they need is some clear rules. Like “if you have 5 or more squad players positive, or all goalkeepers then we will suspend – we don’t care how “good” they are”.

Chris Whitty is already regretting his doomsday scenario.

If loads of people go to hospital with mild illness because they struggle to find a box of paracetamol, drink fluids and rest and start to panic, then the government need to explain why they decided to allow fear and terror over Covid to dominate our lives for the last two years…

Yeah, he means the mildest variant yet and with everyone double jabbed or with previous infection. The vaccine was meant to be the way forward out of this kind of sh*t, but unfortunately we are run by people who base everything on a worst case projection, rather than what they actually expect.

you mean the mildest variant yet? the variant described by the south african doctors that identified it as ‘extremely mild’.

every virus since humans slithered from the swamp mutates the same way. each variant becoming more contagious yet less deadly. which is why we live eternally with flu. this is no different. we will live with it forever. get on with it and stop spreading fear.
