“Light Years Ahead” These Spurs Fans Loving Levy’s Work After Stadium Announcement

By Joe Fish -

The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will host the Capital Summertime Ball in June 2020, the club confirmed today on its official website.

It is the latest major event to be booked for our new home, following on from two confirmed dates for Guns N’ Roses to play at the end of May.

Anthony Joshua’s night fight is also expected to be held at the 62,303 venue in June, according to Sky Sports. They’ll be a few pints served that night.

It is being set up as THE top venue in London, above Wembley.

Of course, there was some cynicism and nausea which surrounded the Capital announcement, but those more open-minded fans among the Spurs Twittersphere are loving Levy’s work and already spending the profits.

These money-spinning events will only be humoured by fans if the income is invested in the transfer market. Otherwise, the response will soon turn.

Priorities….. Levy seems to be doing everything…… But still neglecting the team… More money for enics piggybank,… Where have all these twitter fans been living the past 15 years? My guess is underground in the mountains somewhere with no electric and no contact with the outside world 🤦‍♀️

I have been asking a similar question, Brian; but for different reasons. This site has been through many changes, and the most recent ones have left me feeling more distant from it than at any point since 2006 when I first made its acquaintance. It has changed from a village into a small town, and suddenly into a sprawling Los Angeles. Its editorial bent is somewhat less pointed due to guest postings, and Its multifaceted outpourings collectively contain, as one might expect, an increasing percentage of trivia. That said, it’s not my blog, and it might change yet again fairly soon, and this version may in fact be more completely fulfilling its owner’s primary brief.

Or perhaps I’ve just got too much time on my hands.

Allow me to redress the balance Brian. That thief can have as many concerts as he sodding likes and we still won’t start nxt season with all the personnel required. Cos we are being used to pay the debt on the place while he takes all the cash. Evidence may be found by the fact that we been in it a year, plus had nfl in it, plus a cl final, and we did not have the cash to buy a striker in either summer or Jan. Anyone who thinks this is good news for the club may well need to get to the bottom of the garden quickly before this storm gets here in order to find the fairies

I couldn’t agree more, some posts in here now could be straight from HITC. Not to mention, since Jose it’s almost like ENIC can do no wrong and Jose sure as hell getting less scrutiny than Poch got for doing more with less.

What the hell has happened to this site? This was the one place I could come to for some insight that was anti-clickbait, anti-hysteria and anti-club PR. Now I’m being invited into the mindless realm of Twitter to read tweets from people who are, at best, deluded, and at worst morons. ‘Jam tomorrow’ was a phrase often used here, and that’s exactly what this is. Enic have never truly reinvested what they make from THFC back into the team. They never will. The Premier League is full of owners who just want to stay where they are, rake in the cash and do just enough to suggest to their fans that they have a plan for improvement, that they have ambition. The rewards for relative failure are now huge. Our relative failure may be a lot better than most, finishing in and around the top 4. But that’s all it’ll ever be. Enic and Levy are delighted with that and all the wealth it brings, just as the owners of Southampton or Newcastle or whoever are delighted if they stay mid-table while pretending to have aspirations for more.

This can only be good news for us. But… I’ve said it before – we can hold off celebrating this sort of stuff until we see some tangible improvements in our transfer activity.
We’ve been drip fed a diet of punts and flops for so many seasons now. Some punts have worked out, but to really announce ourselves as a big player we need to make some statement signings as well as the investment in youth and potential. We want to see that hard earned money being pumped back into the football side of things. Then we can toast the bald one.
To be fair, there is some evidence that the tide is starting to turn. Since last summer we have made significant investment into a higher quality of player in Lo Celso and NDombele. We need this to continue.

Who spent 400m assembling Man Utd’s squad ?

I dont want gunsnroses fans in our stadium.
Ha ha.

Man Utd fans are deluded, their squad is worse than ours

Jose will do it for us. But I think the locals will get restless if we start treating teams like Southampton as if they’re Barca or Liverpool.

I like to think Jose was being pragmatic with a tired squad and got the result.

They still walk amongst us.
At best these revenues will pay off some of the stadium debt thereby making THFC a more attractive proposition for a sale when they have finished their rape and pillage of the general area.

The stadium is bringing in money… So what. The club brings in far more and we are still short a fit striker, a left back, a right back and a solid DMF. We made world record profits last year, but still average a neautral net spend, 17th in the league on spend and one of the lowest wage bill of top 10 sides. Fans that think this circa £10m will change that are deluded.
