Levy’s Managerial Wish List Had Another Name Scrubbed From It

Daniel Levy’s managerial wish list is getting shorter by the day and the latest casualty comes hot on the heels of Brendan Rodgers who’s reported quotes will have not gone down well with some Tottenham fans.

Rodgers essentially pointed out that Spurs’ much-vaunted facilities are no great shakes in the 21st century. The days of a football club training on heavy old fields with few amenities are long gone. Most top-flight sides have all the technical toys these days.

German outlet Kicker has revealed that Jesse Marsch turned down enquiries from both Eintracht Frankfurt and Tottenham before taking the then-vacant position at Red Bull Leipzig.

Mr. Levy will be pursuing perhaps his trickiest appointment yet, given the financial limitations – and the questionable public perception of the club at this point in time.

The hot-seat at Spurs surely cannot be perceived as one of the top jobs in Europe right now. Pochettino fired, then Mourinho, and the constant rumours surrounding Harry Kane… we must look like a poisoned chalice.

yes we were 14th when he came in 3 points of 5th

Jose failed big time you cannot pick and choose when the manager is at fault or when the players are at fault

simply the manager is always accountable he picks those players letting him down

And will continue to do so for whoever gets the job next.

I can only hope that I live long enough to see Lewis and Levy gone from Spurs.

I tend to agree with you, but the problem is that player power wins every time. Look at the toxic players they had at Chelsea, who would have got them relegated had they not sacked Mourinho the second time, Terry, lampard, Hazard, all these types that thought they were bigger than the club. Also remember though, that Poch got this lot to the CL Final and they didn’t lay a glove on Liverpool that day when they were arguably there for the taking. Winning stuff is a ‘Mentality’, lots come close but few succeed !!

AND, under the brief José tenure, only Manchester City, Liverpool & Manchester United had accumulated more Premier League points.
The players should hang their heads in shame, they’re the ones who turned in some shocking performances.

Polite reminder, we were 14th when Mourinho came in and sinking fast. Today, we are 7th 5 pts off 4th place, just lost in a cup final and got through to the 1/4 finals of the EL. We were also top of the PL for a month.

Yes, the footballs been woeful. I’d say 95% of that is down to the players. The same players who couldn’t muster a decent go of it in a Wembley cup final on Sunday.

I remember reading posts about how Pochetino dont win anything, well maybe not, but I had the best 5 years of being a Spurs fan
I can remember, and I ain
t no spring chicken

I even understand Levy thought Jose was the shortcut to trophies but Mourinho is finished, it was worse than AVB and that was bad enough

I do wonder who we will end up with though ??

Only an idiot would think we’re an attractive club to join under Levy and enic. Or somebody with a very short memory and the attention span of a toddler. Gary Neville it is then.

Why would it be hilarious if Tottenham couldn’t find a manager? Oh yeah coz you hate levy more than you love Tottenham. You don’t even love Tottenham anymore. You let the man you hate turn you against your club.

There ain’t a manager in the world who wouldn’t want to train his team at the superb Hotspur way. Second to none. Then play at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium. Best facilities in the world. You can say what you like about levy and all the rest of it but Tottenhams set up is the bo77ocks.

We are back to where we were 8 years ago. You know, that point in time when we’re told in order to attract the best we must have CL football. That’s come and gone in spectacular fashion, hence why……

Rogers would only potentially come to Spurs to stroke his own ego. However, if he’s using his football brain, he’d give us a very wide birth and concentrate Leics playing in the CL next season.

Our European exploits will be a coach party beer run to Calais.

Sorry but isn’t all this Nagelsman/Rogers/Marsch turning THFC down just pure media sensationalist guesswork?
Nobody apart from Messrs. Louis & Levy (& THFC board) KNOW who is or isn’t on the managerial wish list, the media (here & abroad) have their own set agenda to ramp up speculation & can ‘spin’ anything ALLEGEDLY heard or said &/or invent whatever they feel fits their daily narrative.
Until said managers actually personally state they’ve been approached or had communication, etc then whatever media outlet wishes to inform us all with whatever report they wish us to believe, is surely all mere conjecture?

The sack is guaranteed with most managers these days sadly. Especially “top clubs” because if you don’t win things you get the boot. Chelsea and Arsenal have had plenty of changes lately, so too Utd. City are more stable because Pep is widely regarded as the best in the world.

Gerrard wouldn’t come to Spurs. I don’t think he will entertain any PL job unless it’s Liverpool.

Jesse Marsch seems like a decent manager, but i think its unlikely Levy will hire someone from Austrian league. Too much of a step up, although he may have been good to generate further US investment in the club

If a manager is throwing themselves at us we need to swerve it. Everyone else is negotiation, some will then take it some will not. Football is a dog eat dog world at the top level, it’s just fans that go all gooey eyed and all romantic about clubs.
We are a prized job but not a prized employer.

We absolutely are a poisoned chalice. I don’t see why any top level or up and coming coach would accept the role. It is a sure fire way to ruin your reputation. Anyone on Levy’s list will be thinking ‘no thanks, i’ll wait for the next opportunity’

Comical really, the supposed list getting shorter daily. We could end up with the ‘dream team’ of Ryan & Ledley. There is only one thing guaranteed as manager of our club – the sack. There is always someone willing to take on jobs like ours but the smart, established managers realise what’s what. Younger managers, like Graham Potter would take it (decent football – they just can’t score) but even Scott Parker would think twice. I think Gerard would consider it but let’s hope he’s not ever in a position to.

Given we have no one lined up and were 6 days away from a cup final – something must have gone on other than the run of results to cause Levy to pull the trigger when he did. I guess we will never know, all the rubbish talk recently about fan power is just to make us feel good, very rarely does anyone tell us the truth about what has happened.

Surely nobody but a minnow would be dumb enough to take the job. It would be hilarious if he couldn’t get anyone. Poor Ryan…..by default.

I vote Levy for boss. Complete the farcical destruction circus.🤡🤡🤡👻💩
