‘Levy has never been a fan’ – Journalist thinks familiar face won’t be seen at Tottenham again

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte faces an uncertain in future at the club with his contract expiring at the end of the season.

While there have been reports that the London club have an option to extend his deal for another year, Mauricio Pochettino has been linked with a move back to Tottenham as well.

The former Spurs boss is currently out of a job after parting ways with Paris Saint-Germain and he has been linked with a return to England.

Pochettino did an exceptional job at Tottenham in the past and it will be interesting to see if Spurs decide to bring him back as a replacement for Conte in future.

However journalist Ben Jacobs has poured cold water on those possibilities by claiming that club chairman Daniel Levy is not a fan of the Argentine manager and he is unlikely to change his mind and go back in for Pochettino in the near future.

He said on YouTube: “I think that Pochettino to Spurs may have had its day. It may have had possibilities in the previous seasons that have gone by, and for whatever reason, Daniel Levy has never been a fan of going back to Pochettino, so why would he suddenly change his mind?”.

Pochettino helped Spurs challenge for the league title and he guided them to the finals of the UEFA Champions League as well. The Argentine is widely regarded as a fan favourite at Spurs.

Meanwhile, Antonio Conte has done a stellar job since coming in and Tottenham have improved a lot under his management. It will be interesting to see if he can guide them to silverware this season.

Everyone associated with Spurs will also be hoping that the 53-year-old can commit his long-term future to the club in the coming months.

Mate, I have no idea where you’ve sprung from, but describing the failure that is Adama Traore in such glowing terms, isn’t welcome. Have Vital Spurs ceased trading?

We are in to the 7th game of the season yet to lose and we talking about changing winning coaches already we need to focus on lacklustre performance and get a player like Adama Traore to spark life into the the team as we know very well they can do so much better attacking as what was displayed in this open few fixtures of the season.Even Lucas Moura made the team spark when he was playing. We should stop playing pep football as we are to slow in the build up.

Dont know what Conte sees in the play of Ryan Sessigion as his percentage of crossing a ball is poor about 5% out 100% the ball gets crossed from his boot(and we have
one of the best headers of a football in Harry Kane in our team) which means he shouldn’t even been considered for the senior team.Serge Regillon did an 80% better job on that side.

Tottenham can only win more than 3 trophies with the addition of Adama Traore as soon as possible

Our women’s team has sprung up quickly in the WSL and is obviously little more than a box ticking exercise. Any top flight club without a team in the WSL would be branded ‘sexist’, not good for marketing…

The MSM is running other kinds of stories too – for a start, that Arsenal are going to splash another £100m on Vlahovic + one. I’m not sure how that sits with FFP, but there were zero ‘Spurs are going for a big signing’ counterstories, so it’s perfectly likely that this is the media ‘having a go at Spurs’ just because they can….

As much as I love the club, I don’t think I could ever work for Daniel. I reckon managers only take the job because he pays them well, the football being problematic is just pat of the job. C*nt…

Just because the internet coined the term, it doesn’t mean the symptoms were not there. The Everton 95 and Newcastle 99 FA cup semis for example.

I’m not sure how old you are, but that Sugar reign was dreadful. He oversaw the decline of a big five club to a mid table one, and while 3 of the other 5 moved with the times, he ran us in to the ground.

We won a Worthington cup, but that was in the days that big clubs never took it seriously and would put out reserve teams. We were a dreadful side for most of the 90s.

League finishes were 15, 7, 8, 10, 14, 11, 10, 12.

Utterly depressing period where we were essentially what Everton are now, a poorly run basket case of a club

Nobody called us ‘Spursy’ before ENIC though did they. Also remember that we won the same single trophy under Sugar, yet he was chairman less than half the time Levy and ENIC have been stinking the place out…

Levy does like football and has always been a spurs and he did actually try to get poch back before nuno but due to poch’s contract it would of cost to much, poch did a great job when at spurs so if conte goes i hope we get him back and I reckon a lot of the players would like that too

We were Spursy long before ENIC.

Coventry was my introduction to it, and barring 91 it was Spursy all through Sugar’s reign.

All this endless speculation about will Conte be here next season or not. is exactly the same dull Media BS we had to contend with last season, lets just live in the present and deal with the present I am tired of listening to this all to frequent drivel fueled by the faintest crumbs of anything remotely resembling gossip and conjecture…… boring, boring, boring!

Eighth wealthiest club in the world, with close to 1bn of debt to service and one minor trophy in over two decades. ENIC are legalised crooks…

He knows a lot about running a club and winning only one minor trophy in 23 years. There to make himself and ENIC more wealthy and naff all else.

To top it off, during his tenure as chairman, the word ‘Spursy’ has entered the English Dictionary despite countless managers and Football Directors. He’s an embarrassment.

Levy’s legacy = Spursy. 👍

It was common knowledge that Levy tried to get Pochettino back to Spurs from PSG before Nuno. Anyway whoever it is, Conte will need a replacement, sooner rather than later…

Levy doesn’t even like football and neither does Joe Lewis. Spurs are just a money making exercise for Enic. If I was Poch, I wouldn’t dream of returning if asked.

He admitted himself he was never a fan.. He probably did get a season ticket before the takeover to scout everything out. Pretty sure he was at Rangers and another club before… He knows nothing about footballing matters, but now he’s the premier leagues longest serving chairman he knows a lot about running a club. Decades at the helm is a long time. Learnt on the job, while making countless mistakes along the way.

He may or may not have had a ST before ENIC, but no real fan would run the club like this given the vast resources that could be available for the team.

I suspect he goes to matches so that after the game he can invite visiting Chairmen into his plush offices and can convince them to pay for the wine he offers from the club’s cellars. With a little cheese on the side of course.

We all like to slate Levy and rightfully so, but I’ve never actually seen an extended interview with him besides the Amazon docu. My understanding is that he was a season-ticket holder before ENIC took over, so theoretically he should know something about football and most likely is a fan of THFC. He certainly goes to many games.

So, I guess it all comes down to Property Management, making money and Spurs in that order.
