Levy Has Built A Shrine To Joyless Capitalism

By The Boy -
My thanks to Paul

As a football team we are a badly busted flush.

Condemned today to defeat by the type of player (the actual player) we not only should but could have bought for £20million quid.

Bizarre to say given what Levyologists would reference as our success but I can’t remember a time I’ve felt quite this low about Spurs.

It’s the squandered opportunities, each glaringly signposted well ahead of time but repeated ad nauseam.

And the absolute knowledge that we have a chairman whose only interest, his exclusive interest above all others, is acquiring property assets and growing their value through low cost leverage debt.

Levy has built a shrine to joyless capitalism, (this from an arch capitalist by the way), at the expense of our footballing dreams.

There can be no arguments, none whatsoever that we have been going backwards in footballing terms for quite some time now.

The team has lost all momentum, has clearly lost a great deal of team spirit and togetherness and I’m not at all sure the players or the manager (let alone the fans) have any idea these days what it is they are fighting for or why.

Maddison signed for the Foxes in 2018 on a five-year contract for an undisclosed fee, thought to be around £20 million.

Ah, but always fully backed financially.

In fact Maureen has never taken a job where the budget he’s been given hasn’t been the biggest or in a par with the biggest in the league.

Poch has been working with a small budget compared to the rest of the top 6, and it remains so.

In short, comparisons with Maureen are irrelevant.

Nah, he’ll be good in the end. He’s only 22 and has only ever played in France. He was brilliant in the CL last season, he has it in him.

On what basis? That he’d just be giving up?

I think he might walk at some point on the basis that Levy just isn’t helping him achieve what he wants.

I think Poch accepts that we can’t compete on wage structure and fees with about 4 or 5 other clubs in the league. What he’s frustrated about is the lack of transfer activity to shape and structure the squad for the greater good.

It’s clear Levy is basically unmoved by any notion of footballing ambition beyond supporting the brand perception. However, Levy is now on a sticky wicket with his balance sheet crap because building big stadiums and ‘world class’ training grounds suggests you have plans to succeed on the pitch too.

I honestly don’t think ENIC or Levy have it in them to take on that challenge, nor do they care…

Yes it was the tightest of calls but now that we have VAR we must live with the decisions when for all those that go in our favour, others don’t!

On 2 July 2019, Ndombele signed for Tottenham Hotspur in a deal worth €62 million (£55.45 million) plus up to €10 million (£8.97 million) in add-ons.

Just saw the Son offside.

May as well pack up and go home at this point. Something rotten is going on.

And I’m sorry but Madison’s shot wasn’t that good, Why was Gazanigga so slow getting across?

Think it was on his mind in some of the strange comments he made at that time, saying winning it meant he could never top the achievement. First offer from a “real ” big club I think he’s off.

Too early to write off N’Dombele, but in Poch’s training regime he’ll hit form in late April/May.

Haven’t won away from home in PL since January, two wins out of seven games in all competitions, good luck to Poch in stopping this momentum.

After 5 yrs when having taken the team as far as he can go and done his best IMO Poch should have bowed out gracefully after the CL final defeat.

Admittedly this game could have gone either way and even won had we taken our chances but ultimately all too familiar after this latest away defeat which suggests that flaky soft Spurs on their travels have reverted to type!!
Having watched him closely not wishing to single him out or anything but early indications are that this expensive Lyon recruit who contributed very litle is a complete waste of money!!

Last summer Donna Cullen went out of her way to stress how much ‘The Highest Paid Chairman The Premier League’ does for Spurs, I knew that all this new stadium thing was pure smoke and mirrors.

Let’s get this straight, as a business man I’m sure Levy knows his onions, but as the chairman of a football club, he hasn’t got a fucking clue.

If he did he would have used the 18 months of zero transfers to put a plan of action together to revitalise the squad this summer.

The fact he hasn’t shows that his penny wise, pound foolish approach is either deliberately arrogant in its disregard of what is needed on the pitch, or he’s incompetent.

In either case he isn’t fit for purpose, without Poch we’d be 7th all day long.

I’m wondering who will be first to jump ship, Poch or Harry? That’s when this particular project ends. I think Harry goes first, his clock is ticking faster than Poch’s. Harry Kane, England captain is now a brand, and according to people who know him he has a voracious appetite for trophies. He will win nothing with this present team. His brand is also suffering being associated with perennial losers Tottenham Hotspur FC. He is nearing his peak years as a footballer, who are his role models, Shearer, Le Tissier or Bale, Souness Liam Brady? I think Harry will go abroad Italy or Spain and hoover up trophies and awards. He deserves to, Enic don’t deserve him.

The club is rotten. And that starts from the top not the tea lady. Read most of the comments and as ever mostly on the ball. But my brother is as thick as a whale omelette and he pointed out that the miami dolphins and saracens will cover any short fall in revenue lost from lack of CL. So is it that important to the little shit anymore? In an ideal world of course but the pressing need for it is no longer there. A few weeks ago three was alot of speculation about mourinho replacing poch. Now we can all speculate about what’s going on there, but the reality is none of us really know, and certainly don’t have the big picture. But the one thing I think we can all agree on is that there is something horrifically wrong behind the scenes. Anyone who thinks that the solution is to bring in that arrogant little shit who’s sole coaching tactic from his utd days would be to belittle players and defend at all costs, needs a jacket that fastens at the back. Poch had the respect of the dressing room. Not sure that’s the case anymore. Maybe because he’s told players we got top stars coming in, O ly to be lied to. Again. And it’s him that has to say to the lads it’s not happening, not herr flick. We have a situation worse than we could have dreamed of with eriksen Toby and Jan. The Belgians are consummate pros. The dane is a disgrace to his profession. And that brings us to dele. The next person that tells me he’s only young is gonna get a rocket. He’s not young. He was younger when he was doing what he should be doing now. He’s another that thinks he’s better than he is. When you throw all that together, don’t improve areas that we can all see are much needed, full backs, another striker, is it really a shock we have regressed badly? No. Not at all. And to put this on the manager it ludicrous. Football is simple enough. 11 better players on the pitch will under most circumstances win you games. How many of ours are good enough?

Finally watched the highlights on MOTD and watched the 2nd half… We were crap. Plain and simple. I must have seen Kane track Madison into our box at least 3 times. You can’t have Kane that deep, but where was our midfield? Defence looked too compact and a bit disorganised (didn’t think you could be both but our guys looked like they were marking each other). VAR aside (Son was not offside) we were beaten to the ball. If we didn’t have forwards that finish their chances we would be stuffed. Kane at city would get a hat trick every week. When did we last actually play well? Even the palace game I thought that was more them being crap.

Could this team learn to do a few simple things after six years of Poch’s coaching. One like City and Lpool start like a house on fire, all guns blazing to kill the opposition early, not sit on your arse until the second half before showing the slightest interest. Two, stop giving away goals in the minutes before and after halftime. Manage the game like pros do. Three stop giving goals and points away in the last fifteen minutes of games. Four learn how to take a f*cking corner kick without hitting the first defender. Five start showing some leadership and start talking and “encouraging ” each other, instead of standing around like dumb schmucks.

Colchester, I know how that’s going to go, we’ll make hard work of it, have to use Harry and Sonny instead of resting them, and pick up a few long term injuries as the icing on the cake.

Unfortunately the game at the top level is about the smallest of margins. Without the currently dysfunctional VAR system that is a goal all day long.

Anyway, i believe we will improve as the season progresses but this will be despite Levy not because of.

Anyone backing Levy or ENIC after this summer is a complete cretin…

Finally seen Son offside and as much as I agree that you have to take rough with smooth… When is the ball “kicked” is it the moment contact us made out the point the ball leaves the foot or somewhere in the middle? Because when it’s that close it’s actually very important.

Chatting to a levyologist mate earlier telling me we didn’t lose… We were robbed. For Kane goal defender should have got a red for push on goal scoring opportunity (I disagree as not last Man), we dominated (again not from what I saw of first half and we conceded 2 in 2nd) and finally the Madison goal was lucky… Something about a foul on their first goal. Also that levy can’t be blamed as 2of the 3 purchases are injured and should only consider them when they are fit… Sorry, but my issue is actually that he bought to stand still not to improve and the players attitude shows they think that too.
