Late Fitness Test For Tottenham’s #2

By The Boy -

Kieren Trippier could be introduced and add some ‘fresh’ blood to what must be a tired T0ttenham side – in tonight’s big game against Southampton.

The Saints’ gaffer Mark Thomas was removed from post this week and there may have been case for believing there is no better time to play Southampton.

If only it weren’t the case that Southampton have been so dreadful all season anyway.

Tottenham will be minus Jan Vertonghen, after his spectacularly mediocre efforts in the North London Derby.

Mauricio Pochettino is going to have to get the Spurs project back on course tonight, and we have a good record against The Saints, having met 38 times and won on 20 occasions.

Our last meeting was a 1-1 draw at Wembley, last Boxing Day.

This is potentially a great opportunity to re-channel the verve that left Chelsea reeling in one of the best Premier League games of the season so far.

The restoration of Alderweireld and Winks in the starting XI would go a long way to achieving that.

Toby is fit…we do need Sanchez back, but we are not short a world class CB. Foyth should be able to handle Southampton. When is Sanchez back?

It’s a problem not having him available.

Injuries have taken their toll this season, more than previous seasons under Poch – and that’s saying something.

All we need now is Kane to get crocked and spend a month on the sidelines.
