Klopp’s Plan Makes No Sense

By The Boy -

While all of Jurgen Klopp’s established stars are tied to long-term contracts and many of them are either in or approaching their peak years, he considers this to be just the beginning of the journey for the club he has already transformed into domestic and European title contenders.

Having been vindicated by his decision to break transfer records in bringing Virgil van Dijk and Alisson Becker to Anfield across successive windows by outstanding contributions from both players towards Liverpool’s development, Klopp thinks it is time to now trust the squad he has to push forward.

The gaffer told PA Sport:

“I don’t want to talk exactly what we will do, but I don’t think this is a team at the moment where we have to spend the big money, or whatever,” he said.

“The best way to do it is bring together a group of players, try to develop them altogether and then stay together for a while. And that was maybe the main problem of Liverpool for the last decade. When they had a good team after a season they went all over the world. That will not happen this year for sure.”

HH Says: This makes zero sense to me.

First of all, I found the way that Klopp came into Liverpool and began buying decent players to address weak areas in his squad baffling. I mean who does that?

Now, the loony German is suggesting that his squad has balance and could only get better.

Worst yet, he’s not planning on selling any of his best players.

The LFC boss must be living in Lollypop Land!

Everyone knows that business model that works, is turning your ground into a shopping centre whilst telling all the plebs that you need to flog rapid flow pints to pay for the hotel, to pay for the private housing so you might eventually put in a bid for a mid-priced player that doesn’t induce laughter.

I for one take great pride in the way our still proud and noble club is efficiently… *gunshot*

Now Klopp wants to put the team together? As there are some injuries, Klopp only does patchwork. That’s why we are behind City actually. Is that normal? Think big is not in Klopp’s genes. Doing the hardest way, that’s him. If he wins a silverware the stars will stay. If nothing turns out expect some to leave. Look what happens to Tottenham with not buying new players. In fact, buying or not buying Klopp barely trusts newcomers. That’s why even after successive brilliant performances Fabinho was benched against Bayern. Nobody asked him why.

Fancied west ham game to be a “coupon buster” or fixed in real life terms. What a joke.

It’s taken Klopp three seasons to realise where his squad was weak – he played with Milner as his first choice left back for a season and stuck with a calamity keeper signing Karius as back up. Don’t forget VVD funds were made available by the windfall from the Coutinho sale. Net spend wise they’re fairly similar to Spurs having gained considerable sums from selling Suarez,Sterling, Benteke and Coutinho
